Just got this board which was thought to have been working all the way, but I'm having issues with a lot of things rapidly jumping vertically along with a bunch of green vertical lines doing the same.

Things that don't jump: text (free play and game over at top of screen, along with Atart '83 and credits at the bottom), and exit doors on the sides, the main fragments of the levels themselves (main chunks of orange boarders), Agent X himself, the enemy guards, the bombs in the middle of the screen, all scores in the upper portion of the high score table (bottom portion does jump).

When in the elevator, the main outline of it doesn't jump, or the writing that appears, or the amount of men, but Agent X with his brief case does jump.

But, on the first screen that appears after you press start, the level select screen, nothing jumps.

In the following pics, you can see the vertical jumping going on.

Cab is running at 5.10, and going up or down .10 makes no difference.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Can anyone fix it or know someone off hand who can?

Thanks.

That kind of looks like a clock issue or a ram issue or both. I would look at the clock signals going to the ram. I would say that one or more of the chips leading to the ram is bad. Clean the edge connector might fix this but I would not get your hopes up there. Worth a shot....

I've tried cleaning the edge connectors with an eraser, but no change. And as far as the clock and RAM chips, well...that's out of my skill set unfortunately. Especially on a board like this that I've read is a difficult repair due to traces lifting.

Anyone on KLOV repair these, or ATARI game boards in general?
I found a website for someone in L.A. who fixes them, Ataricade, and waiting to hear back from him, but would rather go with a KLOV expert if possible.
