Cloak and Dagger/Agent X

I'd say finding one complete is slim, unless you can pry one from somebody's hands, as I think it's pretty much a keeper for anyone who has one in their collection.

I'm in the process of pieceing together one, as I was lucky enough to find a Defender conversion cab in good shape. The parts are out there, but it took me some patience and a bit of luck to find everything. Good luck with the search.

Thanks. I guess I'm going to have to put one together myself. I do have a source for an empty Defender cabinet that needs some work and I already have a working PCB. Just figured if I could find one already done, it would make life easier. The epitome would be finding one in a Crystal Castles cabinet, but that's probably a pipe dream. :)

Is the Crystal Castles considered the more rare/desirable conversion? I'll admit I don't know much about the background on these.

Does someone repro the CC artwork? CC cabs are relatively easy to find, so I imagine it wouldn't be hard to build one, if that's the case.

Agent X is the only original game. It came in a CC style cabinet and there's only 1 (I think). All the rest are C&D conversion kits you bought for Defender or Stargate. Uh, maybe another one, I forget. Someone will probably chime in with the other one.

Most C&D's are poorly done conversions, but there are a few pretty ones out there. Expect to pay for them as they are rare.

The other sucky thing is you not only need a good Defender harness, but you have to try to find the C&D harness that plugs into the Defender harness. Which is about as difficult to field as the PCB is.

Building mine from scratch sucked.

As far as the harness goes, I was thinking I could I wire it JAMMA and get one of Spaeth's adapters. Not ideal, but I guess it would work. If I do build my own, I guess I'm going to have to go the Defender route. Like you said, not the best-looking way to go, but I figure if I do it right, it won't look horrible. I'm not too picky anyway.

A friend of mine bought a dedicated Cloak and Dagger from another collector local to me, and I picked it up for him, stored it for a while then shipped it to him. There is a dedicated factory made version, but only about a dozen or so units. Extremely rare and desirable. They look like crystal castles. I always knew those to be dedicated cabs, and am unsure regarding what the deal is regarding crystal castle conversion cabs. The collector who sold it, who is a member here (and had a bitchen Ferrari in the garage) also had three glass agent x marquees. He graciously gave us each one. These were pretty badly scratched up and werent really usable, but interesting for the history behind it. I think there were only six of them originally and he somehow ended up with three. Joe knows a ton about this game because of his agent x find. there is some info regarding the game here:

Thank you. I was curious as to how many dedicated ones there were. Not surprised they're so valuable. I'd be good with just a conversion though regardless of what cabinet it's in; I really like the game. If one doesn't present itself soon, I'll just have to "roll my own" so to speak. The hardest part I would imagine would be finding a cabinet that doesn't need its original guts ripped out and I have that covered as well as working boards.

Never played it,

How much fun is it?

It's pretty fun; decent twin-stick shooter but with a little more depth. Pretty hard (at least for me). I like the sounds a lot too.

At this juncture I'm just going to build my own. Picked up two empty Defender cabs yesterday with nice monitors. The original control panels are swiss cheese, so I'll probably just make a new one. Other than that, besides the art, I should have everything (except time) to put together a decent machine.

Good luck with the project. I am working on an Agent X mini. I had custom art made 2 years ago. The time is the issue. I just need a weekend off and I will be in good shape.

Why does the title for this thread say 'Cancelled'? Your sig still says you're looking for one?

Or are you just acknowledging that you don't want a complete game now, and just want to build one yourself?

Yeah I still have to change my signature. I'm on Tapatalk most times due to work and I haven't gotten to a computer to edit it yet. It's a pain trying to do it from Safari. Been at work for 16 hours now; end is only partially in sight. :(

Ok changed my mind. My board set is not working and I'm not sure I can fix it. I'll work on it, but in the meantime, if someone has a C&D they want to part with, let me know. I can always restore the Defender cabinet I already have to a nice Defender.
