I just finished cleaning (novus) and waxing (mothers carnuba alternated with Griots Garage best in show wax...Neither have silicone or petrolium distillates so relax everyone :) ) my Revenge From Mars and Roller Coaster Tycoon and finished off the work by dropping in new mirror polished balls (from pinballlife).

Wow. What an amazing difference. Now, maybe its all in my head, but the Pins play feels waaaayyy faster, smoother and the games even flow better...Just thought I'd share

I finally got some mothers from Amazon. I was a bit shocked at the price until it showed up. Thing is as big as a pie tin. It smells really good too. Did my playfields this week and buffed my balls. Playing mighty fine.

Not only is it faster after a polish and wax, I think the game is quieter. I could barely hear the ball rolling around afterwards. I was also using the polished pinballs from PB Life. I could be imagining it, but I think it makes sense that it was quieter when you consider that the playfield was smoother with less friction.

In the past, I used a can of Mother's Pure Carnuba Paste. However I misplaced the can and need to get some more.

I checked out Oreilly's website and seen they carried the "Pure" Carnuba wax. So I stopped by but when I picked up the can, it said "Cleaner" Carnuba wax. I put it back and left. Checked the Oreilly website and the "Pure" seems to be only offered in certain stores.

Is there a big difference? I thought I read it was best to use PURE and stay away from any that had a cleaner in it.

Both products by Mothers were linked above this post. So which one?

The mothers wax/cleaner has a polish in it...Its a very thick paste which makes me think the carnuba content is high.

I've been following that with Griots 'best in show' wax. Yeah, neither are probably the best but hopefully better than Millwax and they are what I had on hand...
