Hi all....

I came into an original Contra / Konami cab recently and nothing on the inside was bolted down / secured with the exception of the
PCB board which was properly mounted to the side wall .....

So, I screwed / secured the isolation transformer away from everything else to the bottom floor so it wouldn't move .....

There are two (2) "cup like" fuse holders which appear to have holes in them to screw them down someplace, but they are loose ....

The power supply itself is just sitting loose inside the cab ......

What's the best way to secure the cup like fuse holders? Whats the best way to secure the power supply? Power supply doesn't appear to have
any mounting brackets attached to it.

thoughts?

For the power supply, there are two ways I can think off:

1. The ghetto way: use plastic or metal pipe strip and wrap over the power supply, then secure it down to the bottom of the cabinet with screws.
2. The power supply has screw holes on the bottom, find the screw type for it, probably M3 of M4. Get a small/thin metal piece, drill it to match the holes, then secure to the bottom of the power supply with the screws. Drill the metal piece again and secure it to the bottom of the cabinet with a screw. The idea is to make something like this:

For the fuse holders, use a stapler to attach a staple on the bottom of the cabinet, use a flathead screwdriver so that the staple does not go all the way into the wood, like this:

Insert a small zip tie under the staple and secure the fuse holder to it.

Or, for a cleaner look, get some fuse holders that can be screwed on the bottom of the cabinet.

My issue with either one of those fuse holder suggestions is that the top of the fuse holder (where I have wire soldered to it at the top) is basically the same height as the
bottom (so to speak) of the cup fuse holder thing -- so if I screw that into the floor that wire end would also be touching the cabinet floor---which probably isnt kosher - having live
voltage touching the cabinet floor.......

Line voltage or low-voltage? Pictures of your situation would help.

Yes, but use SHORTER screws. You don't want the screw to go all the way through the wood.

Buy the right screw that will sit flat in the countersunk hole in the fuse holder.

And yes, a PICTURE would help.

I'm surprised there isnt a 3rd party product for affixing the power supplies to the floor of the cabinet ....
If it's not original, then it tends to be a hack. I try to use one of the existing screws/holes on one end to avoid added more holes than needed. Could also cut a small piece of 1/2 plywood, just bigger than footprint of switcher, to mount to existing holes in cabinet as sort of an adaptor.
