Cleaning the dusty dirty tube on a Midway Space Invaders

I don't want to damage the cellophane, what do you guys do?

Rinse with water gently?

Air Compressor?

Feather Duster?

Summer's Eve?

The dag coating on some of these older tubes is water soluble.....so be careful if using any liquid. I'd go with blown air and a soft brush.

Heh... any idea how much coating you can take off and have the monitor still work? I had a brain fart and used Windex on a monitor one time and took off "a bunch". Much to my surprise the tube still worked fine.

Just curious I guess. :)

I have no idea. I've had a few myself where someone washed most of it off. They seemed to work fine, also. If you Google "aqua dag" replacement.......you'll find a bunch of info......some stuff you can re-coat it with.....some guys using aluminum foil...etc.

i normally blast mine with 30-40psi from my pancake compressor (i love that thing, since i got it all my monitors have benefited from it).

I didn't know any better and washed one a couple of weeks ago. Sprayed it down with some mulit purpose cleaner and then the garden hose. No problem until I started to wash it with a wet paper towel. I took of maybe a half dollar sized chunk in one swipe. The rest of it held up fine to the water, just wouldn't want to touch it while wet. Monitor works fine and is nice and clean.
