I am wondering if anyone has any experience cleaning and polishing large numbers of brass tokens. I have roughly 200 + tokens, and now that I have my coin door fixed with coin mechs installed and altered to accept tokens, I would really like to see those puppies all shined up. Of course the idea of spending days rubbing them individually with Brasso is not one I like, and even using a buffing wheel on my dremel tool (which I have been doing so far) is far tool slow to be worth while. Soaking the things in lemon juice removes some of the tarnish, but that is really about it.

Does anybody know of a way to clean and polish a large number of token quickly and easily?

I remember seeing a show way back in the '80s (!) where a casino used to polish its silver dollars in a tumbler filled with silver polish and BBs. Would something like that work?

Any suggestions?

A rock tumbler, either the drum tumbler or the vibratory one. Crushed walnut shells and a squirt of novus works wonders. I tumble a few hundred at a time and they come out great.

What about cylindrical container with water and sand in it rotated by a motor?

Would that work?

You'd end up with some very scratched tokens.

You should use a soft medium to polish the brass with. Crushed walnut shells or corn husks. I use walnut works fantastic!

If its only 200 I could do em for you it you want to pay shipping x2
