OK, so my Spy Hunter game is filthy inside. I've had it for 3 years or so and it came from a route and appears to have black sooty dirt on the inside of the cab that is probably nicotine or something. (I'm not 100% sure the stuff is nicotine, it's just a guess).

I've vacuumed it out but I'd like to do more.

But I'm lazy -- I don't want to take the power brick or boards out. So what can I get to clean this gunk up? It doesn't have to be pristine, just better than it is now.

So what are my options? What would you do?

Thanks in advance!

I know you said you were lazy but I would pull it all out and sand it. This should make it look like new.

Ugh, I'd rather spray some magic "grime-go-away" spray on the insides and wipe that grime away.

It's the bottom of the cab that I'm most concerned about...

To sand it I'd have to take *everything* out and I'm too lazy for that.

What's a good lazy way to do it? Or is it all or nothing?

Clean

That dirt has soaked into the wood. The only way to get it really clean now is to sand it. It will look nearly new after that.

I've done the lazy way a few times. And I've done the "Man Up" way too. If you actually take the time and effort to take the parts out and sand the cabinet you will be glad you did! Outside of the beautiful cosmetic look it also gets rid of the odor that has been embedded in the wood for years.

Be careful about spraying any cleaner on the cabinet inside. If this is particle board or MDF, I sure wouldn't. Best thing is, strip the stuff out of the cabinet, then go to town with a sanding block, dust mask, and a shop vac.

> It's either clean, or not clean. Man up, and pull the crap out of the cabinet.

LOL.

I'm all manned out. Too many other things requiring attention to take on something like this.

So I'm afraid I'll put the new cordless phone battery in tonight and close the cab back up.

Maybe someone will invent a "lazy man's spray" in the next couple of years. :)
