Classic video games seized at L.A. port

It certainly isn't very aesthetically pleasing, is it? A shame to see any abuse to machines but if it had to be anything, at least it's those...

Strangely, Nintendo has never released a collection of its arcade games for any platform. The NES versions are available, but not the arcade versions.

Namco, Atari, Williams, Taito, Konami and others have had emulated or nicely ported arcade collections to all manner of consoles for quite some time. I wonder why Nintendo hasn't done it.

Because they probably lost them...

I've driven electric cushmans... But in Japan they are Gas powered and run on the streets.
We have lots of these little go-cart/mini-trucks at my facility. For mini-trucks I care for 6x gas powerered early 80's Daihatsu's straight off the ship from Japan purchased new... Now these piles of crap are 30 years old and still 5/6 run strong, they are beat to hell and incredibly ugly, 4 speed manuals, flimsy bar doors, but the one with the dump bed is pretty cool. I kicked one of these out of my shop today that some jackass had smashed the chinsy ass clutch linkage and it would not engage properly. Very poorly engineered, all the do-dads and plastic crap breaks quick, but, I must say the engines, steering and frames seem to hold up pretty tough!

Our 6, gas powered, are nearly identical to this but 25 years older and pounded to hell and beyond.

Not entirely true. There is a fully licensed multi Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr/Mario Brothers game, though I don't think Nintendo produced it.

Coinopstore is Avidcollect, nice guy, good prices. I am sure someone did something to flag the shipment they caught. Their is enough demand that these things must come through all the time. Americans keep demanding cheaper and cheaper crap...

avidcollect appears to be doing it the right though. That is, acquiring the cabinets separate from the artwork and boards. Which excludes Customs from claiming that they are pirated.

Yep, that's our downfall. Everything is a race to the bottom.

I'd bet money this wasn't a coincidence. They were tipped off and waiting on that shipment and already had all the paperwork pre-filled and awaiting signatures.

A few boards here and there aren't worth their time. An entire container of complete knockoff machines? Yeah, that is worth their time and will send a message.
