Classic taito cab from vertical to a horizontal monitor?

I have a chance to get a taito qix cab and they come with the vertical style monitor.

I have a ten game multi taito board that I have been looking to get a home for.

The multi taito board displays horizontal. How hard would the qix cab be to convert it a horizontal?

If I go this route will this open up another can of worms because of the bezel and cp?

Also what in your opinion is the best cab to put a multi taito board into?

I would say that a JK or EA cab is best to put that board in.

BUT - i have (had - its sold) a Qix cab. It was converted to an EA. There is a QIX to EA conversion manual available from Taito - i have one in fact for sale if you want it, but i am sure you can find it online. It will explain how to rotate / get it to how you want (i think).

I have searched pretty good this morning for any of the taito conversion manuals. I had no luck finding any of them.

Don't know about Qix for sure, but if it's anything like EA the monitor is in a metal frame and held in by 4 bolts. All you do is remove those, pull out the monitor, twist it 90 deg., then bolt it back in. No need to change anything.

This does seem to be the case but I see people complaining here in the forum. Something about not being able to shut the back door of the machine because of the monitor hanging out the back.

Then if I do get it switched around to horizontal I will still have a bezel issue to resolve.

I am not 100% sure a qix cab is my best option...

When i get home tonight, i will dig out that manual and post what i read from it. Yes, i asked a similar question in the past (before i had a qix cab) and was told its not possible.

When i got the Qix cab, that was converted to an EA already, i realized it is, and even had the manual to prove it.

Will post something this evening. Thanks.

Hi. I pulled the manual - yes, when rotating to horizontal, a cut out in the back of the cab is needed. I guess my cab got away with not needing it since the last owner put in a happ vision monitor.

I have the manuals here (i have two of these). It has step by step instructions.
