Classic Retrocade and pinball opening in WI - The Garcade
I know I have mentioned it here before, and promised pictures.. Well, here they are finally. We open July 1st and are using the $15 entry fee business model. Opening July 1st in Menomonee Falls WI (direct suburb of Milwaukee) with 75+ games and pinball machines (some are still waiting to be moved on-site). Our main business focus will be a healthy selection of games in the best working order we can keep them in, maintenance is our top priority.
No food, no alcohol... Just soda, candy, chips and energy drinks. There is a bar downstairs from us, multiple eateries in our mall.. We didn't need to go that route, and with wristband you can always leave/return. We also have a bowling alley downstairs and an RPG/CCG/Board Game shop a few doors down.
We all (me, my business partner and my wife) have full-time jobs, so we aren't stressing on the whole money thing as bad as others that hope to strike it rich with their arcade with no other income. We will have the luxury of being able to sink all our profits right back into maintenance and new titles. We were able to start with our personal collections and begin with nearly zero debt as we funded nearly the entire business out of pocket.
Other items (like a larger sign out front) are in the works and will be put up soon after opening. Power distribution is currently happening, hence the machines all being off at the moment. Enjoy a quick look!
