CL sucks - selling 19 games and (Lots of parts added today) in Michigan

Hello, I flippin hate CL. I listed 19 games out there last night and was flagged within about 30 minutes. Since then I have relisted and been flagged probably 8 or 9 times. Not sure why some people suck so much but clearly there are a few disgruntled arcade collectors in Michigan without real lives (hopefully nobody on here is responsible).

I had not really planned on listing the games here as some are priced high for KLOV peeps. But, don't throw stones yet. I have left the prices as I stated them in my CL listing, and am happy to knock off a portion for KLOVers. I have more room on some than on others based on what I have into them, but am happy to work with people depending on what you are interested in.

Rather than redo my listing for here, I have pasted the CL listing details below (as it will probably be flagged again before you even have a chance to click a URL).

Fully working games:
Tempest - Fully working vector classic. Cabinet is in pretty good shape overall. Sideart is scratch free, but one side has a 2x3 chunk missing near the control panel. The overlay also has the typical cracking on a couple of the bends of the control panel, but overall this game is very nice for the price. Don't sleep on this one, it won't last long $750

Make Trax – Nice dedicated cabinet that you don't see often. This one is in good shape overall and has a dedicated bezel, rebuilt board and brand new overlay. Priced to sell fast (sold)

Defender cocktail – very nice dedicated cabinet with beautiful control panels and original translucent buttons. Paint on top glass is a little flaky, but overall very nice game $425

Arkanoid – In a very solid Midway (Pac Man) cabinet. Spinner could use a cleaning but priced right for a solid game or for possible multi conversion $225

Arkanoid Revenge of Doh – In a Centuri wood laminent cab, very nice shape and fully functioning $225

Pac Man multi game – Built in a dedicated cabinet (not by me) with full artwork. This game has a 60-1 board installed. Comes with original control panel with buttons added or for $100 more it can have a brand new, custom CP made with trackball included for Centipede and Millipede. $850

Defender Cocktail multi-game: this is a beautifully redone Defender (not by me) cocktail that has a 19-1 board in it. Games include Robotron, Joust, Defender, Stargate, Blaster, Bubbles, Super Mario Bros, Mario Bros, Gradius, Ghosts and Goblins, Ice Climber and several more. One of my nicest games, but it is time for someone else to enjoy it as I have another multi Williams that I am more attached to. Looking for something better than a 60-1, this is it. $850

Millipede upright – Dedicated cabinet with beautiful artwork throughout. Fully functioning game $450

Centipede Cabaret- very nice little machine with a pretty low serial number. Control panel overlay has some minor cracking but still in very nice shape. $500

Bosconian cocktail – very nice and relatively rare Midway game that looks and sounds similar to Galaga and Galaxian, but the game play is similar to Time pilot. Very cool game and this little midway cocktail is absolutely gorgeous. This is a nice dedicated game that will not take up much space. $450

Terminator II - Very nice dedicated game with full sideart. All guns are nice and work properly. Voice and sounds are perfect, this is a very nice game that I am having a hard time parting with, but it will never fit in my basement $550

Quarterback - Nice 25 inch monitor. Fully functional 2-player football game. (sold)

P.O.W – very nice dynamo cab with full sideart, bezel art, marquee and CPO. This is a very solid, fully functioning game. $300

Mortal Kombat 3 – this is in a very nice MKII cabinet (with full sideart) with the ultimate MKIII board installed. Also comes with an MK I board that works. A little bit of 3 MKs for you. Don't sleep on this one $450

Project games:
Space Duel – Absolutely beautiful cabinet and serial #269. Was home use only before I bought it. Game is currently playing blind and needs to have the Vector monitor worked on to be 100%. Nothing overly major, but needs to have some transistors and caps replaced (about $30 in parts). I don't really want to sell this one, but it is taking up space and time to fix, so it is available for $500 as is if you want it bad enough.

Punch-Out – hard to find, and very sought after game. This one has a nice solid dedicated cabinet. Game plays, but your opponent is not currently visible. Everything else works, and you can punch him and get punched by him, just can't see him. You can even beat Glass Joe without seeing him! Probably a ROM issue, and the next game on my agenda to fix, but I am offering it up "as is" if someone else wants to take this one off my hands quickly. It is also missing the front plexi and back door, so a bit of a project for you. $350 If I get the board going in the next few days it will be $525 when working 100% (sold)

Shadow Dancer – this is the sequel to Shinobi. The power supply went out on it the other day and I pulled the monitor for another game. Jamma harness, boardset, and the rest of the cabinet are there. This was fully working before the switching power supply went out and I can test the board in person to verify. Game was converted pretty decently from a Joust, but you can still see the Joust sideart under the laminent on the sides, so definitely restorable to a true classic (sold)

Super Sprint- very nice, dedicated cab that I had intended to put in my basement arcade. Cabinet and controls are beautiful and this is the 3 steering wheel version. I just have not had time to look at it and it is taking up space. Currently powers up, but the game does not load, probably has a board issue of some kind. $225 as is.

Big Top Pinball – very cool game made by Wico in 77. Shorter table and not actually coin operated, but still has full stenciled artwork and very nice condition playfield and backglass. Currently lights up, but the ball does not reset into the shooting lane. Probably a minor power issue from what I am told $175 as is.

Additional boards and parts listed below. Prices include shipping. I am in the process of taking pictures of everything, and I will be updating this listing with the photobucket URL in the next day or so. I wasn't sure what to list some of this stuff at, so if you think something is a little off, feel free to make me an offer.

Might be interested in a couple, but where are you located in MI???

Hey Wiz,

I seen your ad. Seemed fine to me, but there are a lot of tools in MI. Now I see a bunch of replies using names, etc....

The MI market sucks do to a few people who screw it up.

Good luck with you sale.

I dont understand why people on CL have to be such Douches, sorry to say that I have all but given up on the list of craig.
Anywhoo, as most of you michigan folks already know Wiz is a great guy to deal with, I have bought from him in the past and wouldnt hesitate to do so again! (If I had the cash that MW cocktail would NOT be on the for sale list!)
Just sayin...:)

Man your prices are alright....a little room for negotiation on a couple im sure....im too far away but people near you should appreciate some good stuff, I bet that williams 19n1 is badass........

good luck.....

Thanks guys, I try to be a straight shooter, but for goodness sakes, people forget that we are just dealing with arcade games here, it is supposed to be fun- isn't it?

Glad that it is not just me, I think the prices are pretty reasonable on most of them and some are a little high where I am least interested in selling them, but everything is negotiable. With a little one arriving in a couple of weeks, wifey is telling me that she has to be able to park in the garage- gosh, some nerve.

Anyway, like I said, I will work with you on the price depending on the game, and really just want to see these go to good homes and meet some nice peeps along the way.

Hey Zach I forgot to mention when we were all over at your place a couple of weeks ago, if you ever want to sell that Arkanoid bartop let me know as I would like to make a bartop 60 in 1 for my boys.

Hey Jdubb, I will definitely keep you in mind. I have a couple of buddies that always beat me up for that one. You probably noticed the two I have for sale, but neither are the counter top. I like that little game, but if I part with it, I like the idea of your boys playing it, and will make note of it. Don't you think that they would like a nice Defender or Bosconian cocktail? Perfect height for little ones!

Unless you're flagging it so you can scoop up the games yourself,I don't see why in the hell someone would flag someone else's ad.I know it's all over CL as well as the attack posts where people say certain CL sellers are overpriced and need to drop their game prices.Ugh...douchebags.

Im happy to see Michigan folks listing on CL. I didn't even know you could flag someone. See how much I pay attention.

You are one of the good ones Rob! But seriously, it has gotten absolutely ridiculous. There are enough games and game buyers to go around, no reason for us to be going after each other.

I was expecting Lance to pull some stuff like this as he has done some sketchy deals lately and I called him on it a bit ago and now he is pissed. He has been burning all sorts of people in the Detroit area lately. Calling and offering more for games once he knows other collectors are on their way, and all sorts of other shady stuff. Steer clear of him if you can. He will be driving a white minivan that says A to Z Appliance repair. I used to think he was relatively legit, but after some of the stuff he has pulled with at least 3 people I know, I am avoiding him like the plague.

Peace to my Michigan bredren- keep dropping credits, not flags!

Lol if I could swing that past the wife right now I would do the Defender in a heartbeat. The bartop I can pull off. I just talked her into letting me get another game this week, so I gotta be good for a while! :D

way to little games, way to many buyers. MI is tough to get a deal

No idea who would be flagging those posts. I figured Jay Pinball was the only guy people flagged lol.

If you're listing them all together, then I would think people may be flagging it because they may think you are a business. Try listing one at a time.

Or if you are posting the same ad in five different categories (video gaming, electronics, furniture, etc), then they may be flagging it because they're pissed that their damn IPhone app keeps going off every 5 seconds for the same damn ad...

I hear ya, it is competitive up here for sure. But there are a lot of good games that pop up on CL, ebay, etc,- they often don't last long, but I am often surprised when some do. but then there is another layer of games that are just sitting in places and are only accessible through word of mouth, etc. I love the hunt, as we all do, and there are a lot of gems out there just waiting to be found.

Jay definitely gets slammed on CL and I am definitely not defending him in any way, but he serves a certain clientele with his $400 multis and other games for cheap. I think it hurts everyone with the prices that low, but at the same time, there are people out there that want a cheap game and then there are people that want a nice looking game with full sideart, etc, and are willing to pay more for it. It is a flipper/parter vs. collector type thing. There are people that aren't really into playing the games, but have them for routes and for a way of making money, and then there are people that love the games and just want to build a really nice collection. Everybody wants stuff for cheap, but I will spend a decent amount of cash for a game in good condition. Either way, our market up here is full of cool peeps, creeps and crazies.

Sorry for the ramble, it has been an interesting day. I had a little chat with the person I thought was behind the flags so we will see how it goes- the ad has been up for 3hrs straight!

I thought of doing that, but figured nobody wants to see that many listings (and I definitely don't want to create that many!). And I only list it in "video gaming"- have never really known which is best. I have had a few listings of 8-10 or so games over the last few months (last one was posted on Sept 1), and have had issues, but nothing like the last 24 hrs. We do have some haters up here, but I know who was at the core as he has been blazing a trail of destruction up here lately. I hope he does not push it- this stuff is supposed to be fun.

Just added a ton of parts and artwork. If picking up locally, I will knock some dollars off since I won't be shipping the stuff.

Some people flag stuff just to flag it, I doubt much thought is ever put into it by many of the nuesances that do it for no real reason. The best way to sell a boat load of games with a Craigslist ad is list one or two but in the discription put "I have others for sale as well" That will get you plenty of hits but can be time consuming copying and pasting your full ad to every email that asks what other games you have. The only thing I noticed in your ad that was semi annoying was the "hurry up, this one won't last" you put after a few titles. When people put that it just gives me a used car salesman vibe. If it really won't last then no need to mention it right? :) Hopefully you will not get pissed about my comment, but I do feel that way when I see people put that in discriptions.
