Was googling a game I've really been looking for and came across this listing:
http://newhaven.craigslist.org/for/1471917655.html
Anyone in that area able to buy games? That Crazy Kong Jr is really rare (that's the one I was looking for), and it would be neat to get some pics of it, and hopefully it can go to someone who can dump the ROM's (it's one of the most wanted ROM's for MAME). If I wasn't 16 hours away and had to work 6 days a week for the next month, I'd have went out to buy it. I did call the guy and it sounds like he's planning on selling them first come first served this Saturday morning. And if anyone nearby can pick it up and hold it for me, please send me a PM...maybe we can work something out :D

That Crazy Kong does not work. In fact all of the guys games do not work. He is an ass for making me drive about 3 hours and leaving empty handed. That guy is a liar and does not care how far you have to drive. Just thank god you have to work that much otherwise you would have flipped when you got there. These same games have been off and on Cl now for months.

Thanks for the heads up. He told me it was working when I called him on the phone the other night! Was it Crazy Kong or Crazy Kong Jr? (if it was just Crazy Kong, I definitely wouldn't be interested in driving that far...as they're pretty common ;) )

I believe it was a Crazy Kong. That guy had a raspy voice (Chain Smoker). I forget his name. Anyway, we were told the same thing. It worked.....It powered on, glow in the monitor neck but no picture, no sound....Nada. You should be happy to know you saved valuable time....You would have been real pissed.

Yeah I stopped by there too. It was little less than an hour drive, but was also extremely disappointed when I got there. I spoke to him ahead of time, as well as reading the CL ad that said many of the games were in working condition. Also, he specifically listed a working Double Dragon for $75 on CL (which he verified over the phone)...When I got there the price had suddenly gone up to $150, and the monitor wasn't working (the game was working, but extremely blue). According to the guy it had just went blue that morning and they didn't know what the problem was. After leaving empty handed I noticed another CL post the next day from the same guy..."Double Dragon working" along with a bunch of other "working games" (some of which i distinctly remember did not work, and a couple which didn't even have monitors), the dude's a total liar, and a bait-and-switch artist. he was obviously trying to get people to drive a long distance and buy something just so they wouldn't feel like it was a wasted trip. i thought about buying a few "untested PCB's" for a few bucks each, but after second thought I decided "untested" probably meant "tested but don't work". Avoid dealing with that guy at all costs. Of all of the games listed I think two of them actually worked (Ajax and a Neo Geo cab). Also he was trying to sell empty and broken cabs for like $100 each. Ridiculous.

Case closed. The guy just posted another listing on CL stating he has to move. What a bullshit artist.
