CL $500 Twilight Zone pin in MI.....

I missed it, but it had to be a prank. But if anybody got it... pics or it didn't happen!

Why must it?

I know somebody who's Mom got one for $750 at a yard sale. At least if I remember right that was the story. Maybe he'll post about it, since he's a member here?

I know that $750 isn't $500 but it's close enough when dealing with a Twilight Zone pin.

It looked very legit, had a pic of it in a basement. It was an empty nester that said it's not used anymore. I've heard that when some people get an e-mail back from these kinds of deals they immediately flag it so no one else will see it for sale. Then that way nobody can tell them how much it's really worth or start a bidding war.

You're right, it doesn't have to be a prank. I guess I should have just said that I assume it was a prank. I definitely hope it wasn't and gets snagged by a fellow KLOV'er. If by some miracle it gets posted again, then I hope it's not a prank and I get it! :)

Wow, flagging it for that reason is kind of shady, but brilliant at the same time. So was it posted last night or this morning?

Last night at 7:35PM to be exact. I didn't see it till about 8:00 though.

It's very possible also that they received SOOOOOO many e-mails that they reconsidered how much to sell it for. Then who ever contacted them first got all pissed off when the seller changed his mind so they flagged it.

I sent the guy a note as well, but never heard back. I think it was legit, the guy sounded like an empty nester and someone who got what he considered its useful life out of it.

Because this happens on CL all the time. People get off on others in the hobby going ape crap over A list games, going for cheap, or fake cheap prices.

If he owned it or knew the person that did, I'm sure the oringla prcie came up at one time, so they know what the machine is worth and that its just not any old pinball machine.

Yup, that's right. You can thank your gay iphone for letting you know about the ad within 5 minutes, and you can also thank your gay iphone for telling 500 other people the same thing so they can all email and drive up the price you thought you'd get a good deal on since you have such an elite alert system (sic). Another case of your trendy, pocket-hogging, overpriced, zombie-induced purchase shooting you in the foot. And I couldn't be happier.

Maybe someone got it. I got a TZ off of ebay for $1000 in great shape. I jumped on the deal, had him pull the listing and I picked up asap. He has other people still interested, but he stuck with his word on it.

I regret selling it, but I made a good profit after having it a couple months, and we really needed the money for home repairs.

I got a Tron off of CL for $150.

The owners were moving and had a Tron and Zaxxon at $150 each but wanted to sell both together to get rid of them.

She said she got a lot of intrest in Tron, but no one wanted to pick up Zaxxon with it.

I jumped at the deal. With the truck rental and gas and paying for my help (beer), I got a working Tron in great shape and a working Zaxxon for $500.

Well there was another one listed for an incredible price today, a Funhouse for $599. I emailed about 5 minutes after it was listed and never heard anything back and now the ad is gone. So 2 incredible deals in 2 days lead me to believe it's somebody pranking Detroit Craigslist. Anybody get a reply on the Funhouse?

Honestly it's nearly impossible to get any good deal on CL no matter what. I use Snarfer to alert me if I happen to be home and near my PC but that's it. I think the same change of heart from by the seller would still occur even without these instant alert apps. I bet enough people would still check CL like hounds and see something good soon after it was posted anyway. The only thing is without these alert programs it might give a buyer a little more of a head start to get in their truck and grab the item before it becomes a bidding war.
