Sad state of arcade games in CC. I remember wall to wall games about 15 years ago. Only one little section now. Here are some pics...

And there also appeared to be a Metal Slug Dynamo cab with a 26" LCD screen as well as a MVC2, also with a 26" LCD screen. The image was pretty darn good. Wish I could have seen how they managed to fit it in there...

This is the story for practically every arcade in this area. Drivers, Shooters, Redemption Games, and Ultracades. If you're lucky, there will be a classic or two that are in working condition.

The Circus Circus in Vegas has games in a similar sad state, but the arcade is still huge. They have everything. The pinball machines there are in some of the worst shape I have ever seen. The same goes for the Riveria across the street.

The Harrah's here in Reno has the best "classic" arcade in town. Next to John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks.

They have no pinball machines at Bally's in Las Vegas.

Talk about sad irony.

I beat that House of the Dead 4 with $10. That was the only time I ever played the game; didn't see much reason to play again.

They have another room around the corner - the best in there is a Dual Hydro Thunder. There is another small satellite arcade in there somewhere, but I don't remember where it is.

Cal Neva has quite a few older games. Not really classics, but at least something besides racers and shooters.

Edit: The original Circus Circus arcade wasn't all that big. There were a lot of games crammed down in a room just off, and a little lower, than the midway. Those machines got abused pretty badly sown there.

Hmm... is that an LCD monitor in Metal Slug? That may be why the image looks so clear, and why there are no scan lines in the pic.

Yeah, the arcade manager there doesn't mess with old monitors. If they die, he swaps in an LCD. Impossible to get parts out of there though, unfortunately.

I have a bunch of pics of a lot of the games in the Vegas CC from 2 years ago...

I was just there last year. Didn't have my camera, but it was the same situation. 90% redemption and racer games if memory serves. I'll be in Reno again this time next year.

Well, there were a lot of redemption - true - but not 90%.

Several needed my help, though.

Here's what I saw arcade-wise:

This DK was popular, even though the screen needed rebuilding:

Had these classic combos, but one also had a screen problem:

This entire corner was dead:

BTW - I had a crappy camera back then with a battery life of about 30 mins, so I didn't get to take a lot of pics. I wanted to hit every casino and take pics of their arcade rooms, but some were tiny and hard to find....

Thanks for the pics! These days I'm satisfied just to SEE arcade games of any type in any location. I was in Vegas last November and the New York New York hotel had an 8 player Daytona USA setup (4 linked twins). That was definitely a nice find, though there are 2 Dave and buster's locations near me on Long Island that have 8 player deluxe setups, so...

When I was in Vegas last March I looked long and hard for games.

The MGM grand had a big arcade but it was mostly old beat dynamo or showcase cabs converted into fighter. Every one of the 20 or so there had serious issues and was basically unplayable.

Luckily I got to check out the pinball hall of fame which made up for the lack of vids everywhere else.

I went to Castles & Coaster near Phoenix, AZ on the same trip. That place was pretty awesome by today's standards. I will have to post my pics I took when I was there.

Circus Circus in vegas looked pretty much the same as the Reno one.
