Circuit boards you'd love to see a new production run of

I'd like to see an Atari Multi Vector along the lines of Jrok's board using original code. I think the MAME/ZVG set up is a bit cumbersome.

Double Dragon boards probably don't really cost enough to warrant someone re-making/re-designing them though.

I think Omega Race, and Pole Position II would be the two best boards that could be remade (although probably redesigned, definately in PPII's case).

And unavailable, didn't Zektor stop selling those?

I'll add Reactor to the fantasy list too, you don't see many of them around, and an FPGA for TMS9995nl chips would be awesome since they're such a bitch to find for Looping boards.

I would think almost any vector board should be on the list.. many rare
titles as well.

Personally I would like to see FPGA tempest and black widow, and possibly gravitar.

How about Operation Wolf boardsets? It seems many people have multiples of them *nonworking*!

+100000 if you made a repro pp board, mabye all in one board, and it was dependable.(mabye a molex to connect to a switcher)

You could make a ton of money. Price point of $150-200... you would sell the heck out of them.

I've got to believe Omega Races would sell like hell too, I've seen sooooooo many dead but otherwise in great shape cabs waiting to be brought back to life.

Baby Pac Man vidiot boards. While they're at it, whoever would take on this task could improve the graphics to make it look more like a real Pac-Man series game. I love the concept of Baby Pac-Man but the graphics are terrible compared to the other Pac series games.

I'd like to see a reproduction 2 in 1 Battlezone/Red Baron Vector board.
A multi Exidy installed in Mouse Trap that played Pepper II, Venture, Targ and other non Exidy shooters would also be cool.
Multipede board to install on Centipede hardware not Millipede.

It's not technically a whole board, but I'd love to see someone do a run of those sound hybrids used on 90's Konami games like X-Men, Lethal Enforcers, G.I. Joe, etc.

Doing a Battlezone/Red Baron probably wouldn't be tough as I think the boardsets are the same, the only issue would be that the controls are completely different.

I'm really surprised that no one has tackled a multi-Exidy yet, because except for Mouse Trap the only major different between Targ, Spectar, Side Trak, Venture, Pepper II, Hard Hat, and probably Teeter Torture are the sound daughter boards, and no doubt that could be emulated for all of them with a FPGA. Speaking of Exidy I'd love to see someone do a re-design for Victory as those are notorious for failure, which is why you see so few around these days.

Venture was one of the first games I picked up, back in 2000. I couldn't find a working boardset for it and ended up selling it. I guess there's just not as big of a demand for the Exidy stuff, and many that are interested are purists and would be more interested in original hardware.

I don't know, I'm a purest but at the same time I see nothing wrong with electronic upgrades as long as it plays exactly like the original, and the old hardware can be left in place and bypassed.

...personally I prefer the JROK method, using modern components, FPGA designs and making improvements while keeping true to the original design. Using DIP logic circuits isn't really sustainable anymore.

As much as I love my JROK Multi-Williams, if it ever breaks, I won't be able to fix it myself. Suface mounted chips and multi chips on chips gets to be a problem when they are 5+ years old as well. God forbid JROK ever leaves the hobby, how do you fix an FPGA surface mount chip? I prefer the Rotten Dog approach. Using modern dips and redesign, while keeping as close to the original design as well.
That being said, I would love to see a new set of MCR-III boards. Spy Hunter, Tapper and Discs of Tron would be well preserved for many more years.
