a wire has broke/pulled out of the one connector on this plug, does anyone know if the metal sleeve can come out to reattach wire or any ideas on how to repair this?? also what are these actually called?? its off of a Midway capt. Kid im restoring, i dont think this is my biggest problem on figuring out why its not working correctly....

Those are AMP brand (now known as Tyco/AMP and TE Connectivity) connectors and that particular style went obsolete 30 years ago.

You have to use .156" standard edge card connectors now in order to replace that obsolete one.

Ok, thanks again for your knowledge, i will look for one, i see there are many brands for them? and i assume i have to get one that has the 9 positions to fit onto the board, even though im only using 5 spots on the connector. is the .156" the gap width that the board slids into and over to make the connection?

This is an AMP/TE Duo-Tyne "Flag" type connector. The part number is 582375-9. This is an old part, but it IS an "active" part with TE. There is an alternate part number (582383-9) which is essentially the same, but it has the mounting tabs. This part is also "active" with TE.

The tough part is finding a franchise distributor who will stock this item. So, armed with the part numbers, you check the usual places. Ebay is a good start:

Sagsuper has the mounting tab type in stock. A bit pricey, but OK if you want the part.

Crimp pin part numbers: 530501-*, 530503-*, 530505-* and 530507-*. I've seen these on Ebay and at Mouser, Digikey , Allied, etc. Just look around.
