I haven't fired this machine up in about 3 or so weeks. Fired it up this morning, and the image was really dim, but it was there and I could play a game. Is there an adjustment for this, or is something starting to fail? I assume something is failing, as I didn't do anything to it and it just came up dim outta nowhere. The image is also crooked, can you rotate the yokes on these babies?

Cin tubes are known to fail by getting dim, I had to replace the one in my Armor Atack and I know the guy I bought my Star Castle replaced that on as well. I did see here on KLOV that some used a rejuvenator on theirs and that did the trick, I want to say it was Fritz but not positive.

Good luck,

I'd check all connections. Also, maybe a header pin has gotten cold. Did you reflow those in the resto?

It seems that some games don't sit idle very well. It's almost like a car, they need to be run on a regular basis.

Damn you Space War.

I did no such thing. I didn't even remove the monitor during the resto. That's how much Cine monitors scare me.

Try shaking the game a bit and see if the screen brightens up. That could be a sign that there is cracked solder at the header pins.

You might also want to leave the game on a while and see what it does.

Well I fired the game up this morning, let it warm for about 15 minutes and the image brightened right up. Within 20 minutes is was perfect and stayed that way until I shut it down 15 minutes later. The image is still skewed a bit, so I assume I can rotate the yoke?
