Cinematronics Star Castle sound issue(s)

When starting a new game, the background sound is looping at it's highest speed, versus that of having the slow ramp-up effect of the background sound while shooting through the Star Castle barriers. Suggestions on cause/ fix?

I posted a video of it on YouTube to show what I'm referring to:

Check the output frequency on the 566 timer (BACKGROUND cct I assume is the part of the board we need to review) ... 7.5khz to 23.3khz? ... check the caps in this timer circuit (and other parts/traces etc), and then track back to see if any input is stuck (7406) ... check TL081 amps too ...

The SC schematic is well drawn and labeled. You should be able to find the issue in short time ...

I just completed recapping the sound PCB (9 caps total) to no avail. The Star Castle cap kit was sourced from https://www.arcadepartsandrepair.com.

The audio PCB is free of anything physically looking burned or broken. I located what you mentioned to test (566 timer ICs & the 7406 IC), but I have no knowledge of how to test for output frequency....how to?

Is there anyone who repairs the Star Castle audio PCBs?

Thank you.

Block Diagram Four of the SC manual is what I would guess you need to study. Figure out what components in that chain aren't used to make any other sounds (if the rest all work fine) and that will most likely be what's gone bad.
