Went to my niece's 4th Birthday party last night at Chucky Cheese. I drove over there think what a drag it was going to be with nothing but redemption games as so many others have stated. It had been about 4 years since I was in a Chucky Cheese, and I have to say that I was surprised with what I saw. Most of the ball-pit jungle gym area had been removed and replaced with arcade games! All games were set to one token, and there was a good mix IMO for young kids, teens, and adults. My major complaint was that the Simpsons pin was barely working, the DMD was half burned out and 2 flippers were not working. the Afterburner games was pretty sweet, but built form smaller folks. At 6'2" my knees were hanging outside the cab while I played. Mario Kart is a blast too. Here are a ton of pics.

That Chucky Cheeses is way better than the ones around here, all though i has been a few years since i was at one of them. I do like how everything is set to one token, and you can get good coupons off of there web site.

That CEC has a line-up very much like the one near me. Did you try the other motion "cockpit" game? I like the WWII era simulator and my wife loves the Mechwarrior game, the bubble scares a ton of people though.

They look like they have a nice collection of games there. I would LOVE to play Let's Go Jungle at 25 cents a play. It was $1 per play at the local mall before it was moved out. Me and the wife really liked that game.

I wish the local CEC would tear out the ball pit thing and put in more games. That ball pit is NASTY!! Even if I would let my kid play in it, I would feel compelled to hose her down in the parking lot afterwards.

Wow! Some cool stuff.

On the 'Wasteland' game, that looks like a pop-up error message. Can you confirm?

Yep there was an error message on that machine all night, looked like a pretty cool driver too :(

Yes I did, sort of. I tried to play with my niece sitting in my lap, but she pressed one of the buttons that changed the game selection to Roller Coaster simulator, so we just sat back and enjoyed the ride. After that she wanted to move on to something else and I never got back to it. I think the bubble turret is pretty cool myself.

I've been to this CEC a couple of times. They have a lot of machines there. I think it's probably one of the better CEC's out there.

I miss the way this establishment used to look back in the 80's... expansive floorplan, TONS of machines, darkened rooms and pizza that wasn't too cardboard-like. :)
