Yo friends.

I've been pretty scarce around here lately. So here's an update:

1. My wife loves me. For Christmas, she bought me the side/front art for my 2nd Pac-Man restoration. Thanks Darin! There are photos below that show the typical Pac crack & darkening routine. Paint just doesn't like plywood. I painstakingly masked, stripped and repainted one section at time (see my website Pac-Maniac.com for details) on my first Pac restoration. It came out great but man... 200 hours of just cabinet retouch work. This Pac will be sold so unless somebody wants to pay like $10,000 for one, it's getting vinyl overlays.

2. I fixed my fried DCM 12" powered subwoofer in the Arcade room. It had completely fried just sitting there on its own in standby mode. Craigslist to the rescue--I bought another one with an 8" driver. Sounded horrible so I swapped the amplifier section into my 12" driver case. It was a direct replacement.

3. I FINALLY had time to play Donkey Kong. I was able to beat my previous high score and rack up three scores over 300,000. I'm sooo close to 400K. I improved by not playing it much. Go figure.

4. I'm planning a Hillbilly/Redneck Theme Party for February. So I decided to make a realistic looking still. It's made from a 30 gal plastic drum (car washes give them away), a bucket with water inside, a small fountain pump (2.5 feet of head was enough), a brown jug (drilled a hole in the bottom for a water return line), a plastic transmission funnel, a gallon plastic bucket, some copper tubing, some plastic tubing, a 4-LED 12V superbright array & power supply, "Hammered" copper spray paint, some latex caulk to make a fake weld seam, an MP3 player in loop mode to play a wav file I found and edited with the sounds of a crackling fire, and some fake logs.

Yes, I am crazy. But I think I already have a buyer for the fake still. It doesn't come with the real live Junior Johnson bottle of moonshine however. That's for the party!

Good to be back.
