Need some help with a Top Hat bowler. Game will not end and reset. After manually resetting the game everything functions normally till you get to the tenth frame, you can continue bowling after the tenth frame and it keeps scoring. The frame lights turn off, but nothing else.

Sounds like it would be the frame step up unit. Are the fingers on the unit making it all the way around past the 10th frame contact to the end-of-game contact, or is it stuck between? Sounds like it's passing the 10th frame contacts (lights go off), but not to the end-of-game so it allows you to keep bowling.

Agree with this statement daddyboo. Best way to check it is to test it. Start a new game, this is home position, unplug it. Is the frame stepper at home. Are the fingers marked with home position. Is the unit moving freely in step/step down.

Note I've done this once. I inverted the fingers while cleaning and game play was erratic. Make sure if you tore down this unit that you've reinstalled the finger's correctly. You also could have too much spring tention on the shaft. May want to check that too.

Good luck!

cc bowler problem fixed

Thanks guy's for your help. As it turns out the stepper unit was working properly, it was a bad 'end of game' coil. I should have checked that first, it seems the simple fix is always overlooked.
