Chicago Coin (Shoot out). little problem w/start...

my grail ! imagine how hard it is to find this in Europe...

it was working according to the seller. but in fact, i dont know what went wrong, the machine did start only 2 seconds !

my first problem is to identify and solder -or not solder ?- one or two wires ? that come below the gun system, under the control panel. there is one coil, but only one part is soldered. the other seems lacking a soldered wire...

it seems during the shipping (i couldnt be there... it travelled around 18hours to come here...) that something had happened to defective dry solder points :/ ...

i'll try to take more pictures in few days to help identify the two wires. the thing that would help massively ! is a picture of a full opened frontdoor !! it's so rare on the internet, even Marvin3m has none of this :/. the only near pic i found was there for another Chicago coin game, but the picture doesnt show periphery :/

I can tell you for sure that the coil is your 'recoil coil' as in when you squeeze the trigger it activates and makes the gun shake for a second. It has nothing to do with the game starting up. My guess is that the loose wire in your picture needs to be soldered on the empty lug on the coil. So the game does not start at all? Does it turn on? There should be an on/off switch on the cabinet somewhere. There should be 4 or 5 plugs in the bottom of the cabinet and you should look to see if they are plugged in and seated correctly. If you take some better pictures of the game I can try and help you out. I also have a rifle game, but its a little older.

Check that coil before re-soldering the wire - you can remove that entire upper panel (gun and all) - there are I believe 2 or 4 bolts holding it down.

If that coil is cooked, somebody probably removed that wire deliberately - you can order a replacement coil from PB Resource, and probably other sources.

Mine was completely missing the entire recoil assy., so I had to hunt down parts, but it's a very cool part of the game that you'll want working, and was worth the hassle. You can also buy a replacement 8 track tape if yours is missing.

Mine is at my brothers, so not easily accessible, but post & PM if you need assistance and I'll try and help. I've got the full schematics if memory serves.

Thank you for your words :). it's actually very difficult to reach it as pictures shows, we see only the top in the picture :/ ... i hope next end year to get time for this part of my pal "warehouse". (still in work at 6hours train from the place, only few times i can get there and try fixing what is near (it's time for Afterburner DLX since yesterday and i quit again in 2 days damn job grrrr..), as said, an inside picture of this system manufacturer would help me much i guess to find clues & ideas...?! :)

as said it started 2 seconds or milliseconds more... i imagined it was some problem with relays which would start another random target... or because of the gun (it was dismantled by the seller for transportation :/ ). i tried i remember opening the panel but couldnt succeed it alone.
