I have an Exidy Cheyenne that I want to sell. The game does not work and I am not able to spend much time on it due to more pressing projects. I did replace the C11 cap and the power wiring harnesses (I repinned / replaced the connector at the pcb). The cab is pretty solid with one of the front corners slightly cracked but the other has some damage. I don't see any water damage along the bottom. All parts are there (PS, guns, boards, back door with key/lock, etc). The PS works, monitor works, speakers work, and the game partially boots (makes the boot up sounds but never gets to the test screen).

Awesome deal... id love to get it....thats a conversion in a crossbow cab. Dedicated Cheyenne is a smaller cab.

I was always confused on this conversion. Was it a ROM swap and pull the bow part of the gun off? I've seen conflicting info. I think one of my boards says crossbow on it but I've read that a bunch of their games said this on the boards.

I did have both games (crossbow and cheyenne) at one time sitting side by side and both my cabs were identical.

It was a board swap. Exidy used the same board set for all 440 games.

Looking at your pic of the game not working... try separating or moving the boards closers together might fix the problem. Alsour hit those solder joints on that connection too... the one that looks like a fork... that usually is the problem forlorn that rug pattern

... and that is what confuses me. Board swap to me means the boards for Crossbow and Cheyenne were different and they swapped a different board in to change the game (vs changing roms). But "Exidy used the same board set for all 440 games" tells me the board were the same so it was only the roms that were different. Can you clarify this for me?

Yes, I think I reflowed and cleaned the interconnection BUT that doesn't mean I did it 100%. I will revisit this. Thanks!

It's not just the roms that are different.. alot of the components like resistors, ICs, and caps are different on each board... understand ? You just can't take crackshot roms and stick them on a crossbow board and it will work.
