Hello;

I know a few of you on here have Chexx Table's and I wanted someones opinion on getting scratches out of the dome. I have Novus 1-3 and used them on a small'ish area by hand, however didn't really notice much of a difference, I probably spent about 20 minutes on it. Should I try an orbital buffer, and if so, anyone recommend a place to buy good covers for the buffer, the ones that came with it aren't great and are older now. Wanna clean it up and it'd be nice not to have to buy a new dome, they're pricey.

I did find this:

http://marvin3m.com/arcade/chexx.htm

Not much on dome repair, but it goes into detail about the whole machine pretty much.

==edit==
Found this too:
"As for getting scratches out, Plexus is a tremendous product to use for slicking up the ice surface and polishing the dome. It will fill in and hide small scratches but the big ones have to be buffed out with a polisher or you can live with them."

Hey thanks, ya, a good reference definately and it'll come in handy when I go to replace one of the gear boxes, not much on aesthetics in there though, like you said.

I have a CHEXX. I think you can buy a new dome for $200. Not a great deal but really not that bad in the scheme of things if its for HUO.

Definately HUO, but it's not that badly scratched, just the recommendations I got about cleaning it in the past didn't seem to work so well. (Which was use Novus to clean it up, I tried but didn't have much luck, I thought with an orbital buffer which I have I might have more luck but don't wanna wratch it more so I thought someone might have an opinion on the matter.)

Well I used to orbital buffer and it got out I'd say about 50% of the scratches, and it actually looks a lot better. Magic eraser got rid of the black marks, I need to figure out how to get the double sided tape off now, as it no longer sticks. Any suggestions? I'm picking at it and it's taking forever, I guess Goo Gone it after I get it all off, but should I use a hair dryer or anything else to speed it up?
