Picked up a 1983 Chexx hockey recently, not working. After inspection, found the main pcb had one blown tantalum cap and a cracked tip120. The scoreboard had several scorched chips. I replaced all the chips on the scoreboard, and the caps and transistors on the main pcb. On first power up the scoreboard read 41-1, I switched some of the chips on the main pcb for new ones and found one of the 7417 IC's was the cause of the 41-1 score. Now I power on and the game still doesn't boot but the scoreboard reads 0-0 like it should. While switching some of the IC's for new ones, I changed the74ls04 IC on the main pcb location U1 and when powered on the puck eject solenoid engages and stays on. Which I think is what blew the tip120 transistor. Does anyone know what controls that chip to engage the eject solenoid? Also does anyone know if you need a working scoreboard for the game to play?
