Just curious if anyone would know "how tough" it will be to CONVERT a brand new chexx bubble hockey table coin mechs?

Our family business (bowling center) was considering purchasing a brand new table ($2995)

The catch?? We are located in Canada. I assume the coin mechs and slots are set up for U.S. coins. The OTHER chexx tables I have seen around these parts are set up to accept a Canadian dollar "Loonie"

They are gorgeous tables. A men's bowling league, especially up here in Canada, would eat up a chexx table!! Would take a bit to recover our investment. Kind of like a Pool table, it NEVER gets old!!!

Anyone own one?? Is maintenance a PITA on these? NOT sure I would ever drop that kind of coin for a home unit

I would assume that if its a new machine that cost that kind of money, it would have one of the new electric coin mechs. If it is, you would just install a canadian coin in the mech and it would accept all coins and tokens of that size. If it isn't equipped with them, they should be easily purchased at happ controls. You would have to wire up to the power supply as I think those mechs require some voltage(probably +5 and grd). But that's just speculation from what I have heard. But hey, here is the link to read up on it for yourself.

thanks for the replies guys!! A great place to start! The problem we will have is the Canadian dollar coin slot is much bigger then any slot designed for U.S. coins. I know a local vendor that has numerous "golden tee" units in bars set to the Canadian Loonie. He mentioned on the phone today, a conversion is fairly simple. They come factory set to accept U.S. quarters.
