I had a thread on here awhile back about getting my original Chexx running, well I've finally got it working 100%. But I have a question for other owners regarding the sound. Does the game seem to hum more than usual? Mine's pretty annoying when its sitting ON but Idle. I've checked the volume pot (twisted it a bunch of times), made sure the speaker grounds are making good contact, and tightened the screws holding the logic board in place.

I've noticed it picks up EMI from Cells phones really easily too. Maybe I could upgrade the speaker output wires leaving the PCB headers to something with better insulation?

Any feedback is appreciated!

I haven't seen an old Chexx in a while but I would definitely check
capacitors in the power supply and audio amp section.

I replaced every electro cap on the PCB and power supply before I gave up and sent it to ICE who the found a broken internal trace. It's not a loud hum, just enough to be slightly annoying.

Recheck your solder work under magnification for cold solder joint. Did you check your replacement caps with an ESR meter I just found 1 bad panasonic that I ordered as it came to me bad. Its rare especially for panasonic caps but I always check. Possible that you still have a bad trace on the board. And lastly are your speakers shielded?

Honestly, I have no idea what kind of speakers are in there. The guy I bought it from put them in. That's something to consider. I'd say it buzzes slightly louder than the one MCR game I've owned.
