Boy! People begging for me to save games!! SCREAMING if I smash them! But sadly, NO ONE CAME--except one person who took parts off the games this past Sunday! So off to the DUMP! THAT'S RIGHT!! The DUMP to be destroyed forever!!! First trip has a LOAD...I saved the best 7 games which remain until we go to the dump one last time later this week....so there IS still time to save SEVEN of these cabinets! That's the LAST picture!!!

In three years we went from 18,000 square foot of games to 6000 square ft of games (including double racking, of which I am renting 1000 square foot) Thats ALOT of less games in storage in the collector world!! Final goal by Xmas is to be out of the last rented space and have everything in our owned buildings!

BUT, there will be no more free cabinets now, as I got rid of all the ones we were junking!!

No one even wanted the 8 ball Deluxe cabinet either! CLUNK!!

I still don't understand why people feel the need to act like a complete dick about smashing games.

Who is being a "dick"? Not Todd, once he saw the reaction from the KLOV members here he hasn't thrown anything off of the roof and realized it wasn't cool.

After that he offers cabinets up for free so they won't be smashed or thrown out and only ONE KLOV member goes out to his place to take parts.

I won't like it if Todd decides to Promote his business by dropping games off his roof again but really how can anyone bitch if he does????

IMHO

Shame to see so many great projects go to the dump. I mentioned in one of your other freebee posts that i wish you were closer i see atleast 5 cabs there that i could use or would do something with.

who's being a dick? TNT has given away so many free cabs as it is and a man is welcome to do whatever he wants with what he owns.

also in regards to distance to get them, if i was closer i'd probably be waiting in the bushes waiting to pounce on new inventory of free cabs.

Smashing a decent Tempest with lots of parts is one thing. Giving away stripped Mortal Kombat cabs is another. Try putting that Tempest out back for free with all the parts and watch it evaporate.

I agree, some of the games in the past were full of parts, some where not.

I think what Arc is getting at is it would have been just as easy to come in and just say that nobody came to get the free cabs so they are now gone to the dump.

I didn't see anything in those pics that needed to be saved.

All I know is I just got two Williams displays from Todd, both work, and one is going in my Space Shuttle, the other is being saved as a backup, dirt cheap. Now if I can just figure out how to get where one of his guys wrote "bad" and "burned" on the glass in sharpie marker off, lol....

Who's got a cooler beard to fear, Brian Wilson from the Giants... Or Todd Tuckey from TNT ? Todd wasn't being a Dick, he was just showing and emphasizing that was the last resort after a poor turn out, and I personally think he along with Anthony from Quarter Arcade are nice enough to from time to time offer free parts / empty cabinets.

Can anyone make me a Todd Tuckey fear the beard shirt ?

Some of us would argue the opposite :D

Most of us here wouldn't. Most of the people here collect and restore 80s era games. The free cabs were only wanted by a smaller subset of collectors, thus giving them less value here. If you want to restore a Mortal Kombat from the ground up, go for it, you may even be able to get parts from the original manufacturer. Try calling up Wells-Gardner and asking for a color vector monitor.

Hmm... Magic Eraser and Simply Green, Greased Lightning, or Goof Off would likely work. I'd hesitate to use Goof Off on non-glass areas of a display though.

i won't disagree with you on the fact that there are far more 80's era game collectors here, but the 90's seem to be popular with many of the people i talk to, Konami/sega/dynamo/ect cabs included. I don't restrict myself to 90's cabs only as that would be foolish of me. I personally wouldn't want to restore a 100% NOS MK cab, it's always cheaper to buy it already done :D

this isn't a pissing match over MK cabs or even 90's era cabs vs 80's, this is about todd attempting to appease the masses and the masses not following thru.

also i've seen a bunch of nice tempest cabs put up for free only to have them sit there with the crickets.

Guys... guys... guys....

Look.. I've met Todd and I've been to his warehouse a few times over the years. He's a really cool guy, but trust me... if he is thowing something out, it IS garbage!!

So what you're saying is, Todd's upset that we wouldn't haul away his garbage for free? :D

Exactly!!!!!! The ones that he stripped out I would even throw those off the roof..........
