Hello
I have a 8-liner cabinet.
Not the first owner.
This machine had a ticket dispenser "unattached".
I wired it back and when I press "Take" button, the machine dispenses tickets and then a "Sensor Jam" error is shown on the screen, I can't press anything until it's powered off and on again. The machine takes bills just fine and totals the credits, plays great too, it's just that "take" button that causes that fault.

Any ideas?

The new ticket dispenser has 4 wires, power, ground, enable and notch.

I plugged in a Cherry master 96, and same error "sensor jam" when ticket dispenser button is pressed. The dispenser does dispense the right amount of tickets tho. But then locks up and a manual power off and on makes the system work again, but the credits are still there…

Can I get some direction on this one guys?
I've been messing with the settings and even installed a different ticket dispenser and same Sensor Jam display on the screen once the Ticket button is pressed. Then the system locks up and I have to reboot it.

Does the ticket dispenser have a sensor that's looking for confirmation that you have taken your tickets? Have you checked the feed path is clean? Does the diagnostics reach out far enough to check on sensor status?

I have 2 dispensers, different models. They both have the the tickets going through a sensor. They both have been cleaned and same error persist.
The diagnostics, I am not sure about. How do you check that? Through the settings?
Thank you for your reply.

I'm used to diagnostic screens that tell if a coin switch or a door switch is tripped or not.
However now that I'm looking up the dispenser there's only one sensor in the basic models.

Give it power, give it ground and give it a dispense enable wire and it's working like you said it should and stopping when it should as well, so Meter wiring should be correct and that's the only feedback to the board.
Yeah I'm stumped.

I'm so stumped!

I hooked up another game; Fruit Bonus 2000.
I play a game, press the "Ticket" button on the panel, and the ticket dispenser spots out some tickets, the meter counts them, then the machine locks up, error on screen: Sensor Jam. Same as Cherry master. Could it be the wiring?

Make sure the notch line is hooked in correctly to the harness? Sounds like it's not detecting the notch. Maybe see if there is a different ticket mode to set, like continuous or something where it just pulses without looking for the notch. We run boards like that but not with ticket units.

Thanks for the advice, I will look into that and maybe even rewire just to make sure, yes there is a continuous setting, I will try that too. What do you use instead of tickets? Hopper? Or print out? At this point, since I can't these ticket dispensers working, I might want to try those…

🙌🏼 I can't believe that worked!

Turns out my notch wire had a splice that wasn't connected correctly, I re-spliced it and attached it and it is now functioning perfectly! Big Thank You!
