cheep degaussing wand on ebay

Broken English in the description so I would be careful with buying that one, you never know what was lost in translation. With the voltage in question, you have to wonder what it really is.

Guys here in AU buy these cheap 220V ones. Our voltage is 220V

But beware, there have been bad stories of them catching fire

I bought a good one for about $85.00 and it's awesome

You get what you pay for I guess

thanks for the info... didnt even see the 220 volt on there. and yea, broken english makes me leary of using this haha.

ive never seen a tape eraser before. that's very interesting. just a big electro-magnet?

i might just get the one sold by bob roberts.

Why not try another inexpensive, practical route? Just get a soldering gun and use that. I've used mine numerous times and have always had excellent results.

Looks just like the one I bought for $8 on ebay. I can't check if the description also said 220V (ebay listing is gone), but I can say it worked for me. I wouldn't leave it on for more than a few seconds though.

I own a round degausing wand... works great... but what I did for shits and giggles... took a degausing coil off a bad tube. sloted a piece of wood(big enough to hold and have a push button trigger) attached it to the wood using what else...electrical tape.. wired it up to the degausing coil and switch to a plug... works just as good as my professional round wand..

I got that same green one off ebay for cheap. Works on 110V and seemed to work good on the monitor i used it on. Isnt super powerful or anything but for the price you cant go wrong. :)

Back in the day when I was in the TV repair business we just took the deguasing coil off an old 26" picture tube and doubled it up into a smaller loop, put a longer cord and plug on the end with an inline switch.

Worked great - just don't leave it on for any length of time as the coil will start to get warm. ;)
