OK, I am trying to solve a 'movement' issue with my Marble Madness. One of my potential solutions is to replace the chip that i beleive interprets the trackball output - the legendary LETA chip. This apparently is known to go flakey and cause issues.
So, before i plug a new one into the socket, are there any things i should be checking to make sure that whatever may have caused the issue with the original doesnt do the same to this one as soon as i plug it in?
I have checked the +5V on the bottom right of the System 1 board that the LETA is on and it is a rock-solid 5V. Anything else?
Cheers for any and all advice...
