Check out the new pcb storage setup ;)

So, last week, I came to the conclusion that usps priority boxes wasted too much space when it came to pcb storage. So, I thought about making a shelf system that would allow me to store pcbs in an upright configuration and would allow for various sizes of pcb. I think I did a fairly good job accomplishing what I set out to do. With priority boxes, I could fit 12 games on a shelf... Now, I have 21 on the lower and 18 on the upper with a couple empty slots left. Total cost of materials was around $100 from home depot with enough left over material for one or two more shelves.

That is some serious timber you got on those shelves LHS

2x2 trimmers ? , 3/4 ply ? , you could sleep on that !!

Why the top trimmers ?

Also the only reason i cannot do pidgeon holing like that for my pcb`s , well for all of them , is that a few of my boards have hardwiring from the harness to the board , they were done to bypass stuff , so i cannot take the harness off the edge connector .

any way to get around this ?

I do like to over-engineer things. I don't want these shelves to sag over time, so I used some better wood. The top trimmers are mostly just guides for the shelves, but they also make it so that if someone puts force on the front lip of these shelves, they won't flip up and dump everything off. Also, if eventually these shelve do start to sag, I can use the top trimmers as holders put a screw through them into the shelf. You could always just make some wider slots for boards with wiring, or even mount the shelves horizontally. I have a few boxed pcb kits and a caged sega model 2 game (huge) that I placed on top of the upper shelf (about 5" from the ceiling). They fit well there. I also have a few games that have boards on either side of a metal plate with wiring harness adapter on both sides that I will probably put on the next shelf down along with my cps2 games.
