Cheating Pinball game

dude knows the feel of that machine perfect.
the tapping that he's doing is remarkable.
talk about exhibiting complete control over the silver ball...

I didn't even know stuff like that was possible. I also don't play pinball ever.

Cool vid.

I played around with passing when I first saw this video a year or so ago. I realized pretty quick that it is a special talent, and I went back to just slapping the ball around.

Stupid question time. Whats the point of passing the ball back and forth like that?

Look at the right side flipper button location toward the middle/end of the vid...it appears there are two flipper buttons on the side? If that is the case, there may be some sort of shenanigans going on... The way the ball moved seemed unnatural at times...

Magna-save...

Besides, he never even uses that button. To barely activate the flipper, you quickly brush a fingertip over the button. Try it on yours - it works if you leaf switches are adjusted well.

It's Jungle Lord... the extra buttons are for magnasave... n00b ;)

EDIT: Nevermind...

Not a stupid question for someone who doesn't play pinball.

Sometimes you need to make a shot to get a bonus that's easier from one flipper than the other. Or just not possible at all from one side. That's when you want to pass. I'm pretty good with bounce passes and slingshot passes but this video is pretty insane. I can't do anything like that.

I like the slingshot passes, and have gotten decent at them.
How to do it:
1. hold ball with 1 flipper
2. let it roll to tip.
3. lightly hit it so the ball bounces off the very bottom post of the opposing slingshot.
4. catch ball with other flipper.

I still eff it up quite regularly though. I can't pass like he does on my Charlies Angel pin, because the right side has an out-lane halfway up. This even stops you from catching the ball with the right flipper too.

Are you catching the ball or corraling it? I consider catching the ball to be done when the ball contacts a dropping flipper and then the flipper is re-raised to hold the ball at the base of the flipper. Corraling the ball is holding the flipper in the up position and waiting for the ball to stop rolling back and forth.

I have to hone my catching skills on my Old Chicago machine, it has helped greatly with my Stern game play as well...

I know it seems like bullshit, but it can be done. Big thing is knowing your pin.

When I got bored with my Comet, I started messing with it, and I can actually hook the damn ball a little.

Practice makes perfect.

I wouldn't mind seeing a better vid on it myself to see the technique there. Sounds like a cool one to learn.

Hell, I could make a vid of doing this on my pin if I practiced a little bit. Sure I couldn't do it at will like that guy, but I know I can do it. Why is it so hard to accept a guy can toss a pinball between the flippers, but it is perfectly acceptable to think a guy can play a video game for 4 days straight.

No question that its a magna-save mounted near the drain...easy mod to do-why you'd want to do it is another thing. He still looks like a capable player, though. This was just for show.
