Cheapest way to get a cocktail cabinet from Florida to northern California

Just at the title says. Trying to rescue a cabinet bound for the trash- just trying to see if I can't get the cheapest shipping quote possible. Anybody have any ideas on where to turn? I'd rather not see the unit get dumped, but it's not worth the $400 shipping I have a feeling is in store.

Thanks fellas!

Sell it in FL and rebuy in CA. Or if it is FTGH (free to a good home) find a FL KLOVer to take it.

Is the cab stripped? If it has no monitor, it may weigh less than 150-lbs and you can pack it in a large box and ship it UPS for about $150.

I sold a Playchoice Countertop to a guy in Minnesota. I put it in one of those big boxes that Arcadeshop ships their Midway style cocktail cabs in. With the monitor in it, the entire thing weighed about 110-lbs. Shipping via UPS Ground cost about $143 IIRC.....

If you could get it to vote Democrat, it would probably move there on it's own....

:D

hate to tell ya but you can probably buy a dead or stripped cocktail in your area for less than shipping would be from Fl to you

Well, the problem is that it's a reltively rare machine. Not so much on the expensive side- but hard as shit to find parts. I've been working on one for just about 2 years ish- I need some brackets and things - all the hardware (possibly even the tube if I can save it) would make it worth my trouble (my project means alot to me- I've put a little bit of me inside that damn thing :p)

I appreciate the UPS tip- looking into that right now!

find some one to band it to a pallet then ship cheapest common carrier, i think you could get it there for $150.00. Anywhere near Jacksonville?

load it on the space shuttle and hope for bad weather in florida on return home day, they will land it in california. Ingenious, no?

But seriously, if you can pack the monitor by itself you can UPS that for $40. Does the cocktail disassemmble?

UPS has a 108 inch overall package size limit for "normal" ground shipping. So even if it were to be boxed, you will have to double the length + width+ depth and that has to be less than 108 inches or you outta luck shipping ground. But honestly, even if it did fit in the truck, they will destroy it in transit and you will have a fit attempting to have any "replacement costs" embursed. Maybe time to strip some parts?

I shipped something in a box big enough to hold a Midway-style cocktail via Fed Ex, not UPS, as I now recall....
