cheapest place to buy marquee light fixture replacements

Where is the cheapest place to buy marquee light fixture replacements?

Why keep it secret? There's more of us here who'd like to know the answer to this question. . . — — — . . . :help:

If there is some secret it's stupid cause like the other person said you can buy them at Walmart for like $7 and why do people have to anounce PM sent?

I think people posting that they've sent a PM is some sort of territorial/dibs kind of thing.

Aw. That's sad.

On a side note, I went to the hardware store and got a ceramic incandescent utility bulb holder (you know like the ones that have a chain pull for on and off and are only a ceramic circle with a socket?) for $1.87, then put a $3 CFC spiral bulb in it and when the marquee goes on, you can't tell the difference. YMMV.

I got tired of replacing cheap a$$ fluorescent tube fixtures. It's easier to screw in a new CFC.

Does that put out much heat?

Yes I, agree I just usually buy a screw in bulb socket and put a bulb in it. It looks the same once the marquee is mounted.

i buy the fixture, then yank the ballast out, trying to preserve as much of the original fixture as I can. Its hard to find 15W ballasts, and the whole fixture is cheaper.

That's amazing - it's like how it's cheaper to buy a whole new ink jet printer than it is to buy new ink carts.

No, CFC's are not much hotter than a tube fluorescent. A CFC is a fluorescent - not incandescent. They do get a few degrees hotter due to their compact nature. But not much.
Thanks for the info. I'll try that in the future.
