Cheap Galaga in Detroit

They edited it..... now $199. Probably got bombarded with emails and thought they should raise the price. I can't stand people that do that crap!

Seems like in order to get a cheap game off craigslist now days you have to pick it up 15mins after the posting or people just keep raising their price.

Ofcourse its BS, He prolly got a bunch of emails and is just raising the price to squeeze every last dollar out of us. That machine is not worth 300

Cheap Galaxian

Guys, it's not rocket science why this happens.

Someone here sees a CL post and then posts it on KLOV. A whole bunch of you guys all eager to score a deal call, email, etc. immediately. The seller gets a deluge of responses and thinks, "Shit, I made this WAY too cheap. I need to jack the price up". And further spurring this is likely some jackass emailing to buy it for more than its posted at.

I am wondering when the collective intelligence of this group is going to figure out these "FS on CL" posts are counterproductive. If you are interested in helping out a collector, just check the WTB posts and PM. Otherwise, if you don't want the deal, don't advertise it. You are not only driving the price up, but reinforcing some of the absolutely ridiculous prices that are on CL, eBay, etc. now.

And FYI, the person who typically responds and buys a deal that was posted to the group is doing it to flip it for a profit. It's far less usual that someone who is actually looking for that game gets the deal.

Only an asshole raises his original posted price due to response. Now, that is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I've posted shit on CL and gotten dozens of emails... I've NEVER ONCE jacked the price up. I simply start with the first responder and work my way through the emails. The first to make an agreement to drop by gets first chance... if he doesn't show or doesn't buy, the 2nd responder gets a whack.

If you don't know WTF you have before you list, then you're an idiot IMHO. Again... take that for what it's worth.

well a good exapmle here is a CL ad in mi
for a pac man cocktail cab
guy just had it up for sale as best offer
so i called on it and he said a guy was comming over to look at it.
so i said ok no biggie i am sure he will take it, and i cannot get over there for a few days.
we then the seller asks me how much i would pay for it and i said $100.
he then said for $100 he would wait for me.
i then just said no biggie just sell it to the guy who is comming, and i made up a lie like my wife would prob kill me if i bought it. (it would have been a perfect cab for my office for the kid and adult patients)
but i would have felt bad like i stold it from a guy who drove out that far to get it.

I hate jackho's who put a cheap price in the header and then the jacked up price in the ad... I think those are the only ones I have ever flagged...

You guys are a bunch of CL vulture whores anyhow. Its almost a contest to see who can reply to each ad the quickest. I don't even bother with CL anymore because I know everything I see posted has already had a dozen replies already. Blah

LMAO....Winner!!!

Hey you never know what's going to happen with a craigslist ad. I found an ad for 2 pinballs a couple of weeks ago, and they were a decent price so i mulled it over for a day then emailed the guy. Not only did he still have them, but I was the first to respond. By the time I could get out there to look at them, he said he had 6 more people wanting to come out and see them. Long story short, sitting in my friend's living room waiting for me to free up some space are a pinbot and a space station pinball.
