Chattanooga pinball Rlevin going out of biz?

I hate to be an asshole - but when Dale is asking prices like $2400 for a Star Wars upright, $250 for a non popular PCB yeah business is bad because he's dug his own hole.

#1 flaw for a business - too much overhead and have to over charge to make up for it.

I'm sure everyone agrees even as an Operator his prices are outrageous. He's a family man so I hope for his sake his business is ok.

Just because you won't pay it and it's your hobby, doesn't mean the average Joe who knows jack shit won't. He provides a service to the average Joe...not you and me. And OPs sell to get rid of stuff taking up earning space, not warehouse space...

I'm going to say what I should have to others that have bitched long ago. Shut yer fucking hole if you don't like it, you're just jealous you haven't cornered your own market and do it as a business instead of a hobby. Anyone who has bitched and pissed and moaned, you too!

The guy has employees, payroll, warehouse expenses, taxes, etc. Also I'm sure everything he sells as 'shopped' comes with a warranty. What price would you sell games for if you had all of those added expenses and had to warranty 20-30 yr old electronics for 90 days?

Looks like he's trying to sell his business to me and when you have your business up for sale you don't anounce it to the world for many very good reasons.

Agreed, it gives the appearance that you are in trouble as a business. In which case, with most companies, quality-control & product backing are the first things to go out the window in terms of priorities when they get into financial trouble. Not the kind of impression you want to put out there in an advert.

I should have said this a long time ago - anyone that feels a person is not allowed an opinion shut your fucking hole. Oh wait that would mean you can't have an opinion either. Seriously........ this forum wouldn't exist.

Jealous? You presumptious asshole. Cornering my market would be tough considering I don;t sell games and please feel free to search threads where I have repeatedly said, "It's theirs and they can ask what they want for it."

And lastly I also said Dales a family guy and I hope everything is ok. I highly doubt this can be taken any other way than sincerity.

You should go back and read your own presumptuous statement of Dale digging his own hole because his prices are too high, his business is flawed because he has too much overhead, his prices are outrageous....blah blah.

You think ending it with a heartfelt statement takes away from the fact you, like numerous others in the past sling mud at Dale for being a retailer, makes it better?

But I am the presumptuous asshole... Yeah I'm standing up for Dale, someone has to when the guy hasn't even done anything wrong.

Every game I sell comes with a warranty -- if you know how to repair things properly, the warranty doesn't cost you a thing.

Naw - no fighting just learn to agree to disagree. It's life and what makes these forums enjoyable ;)

Agreed :p I didn't call any names...Deadly called me an asshole (Pfft like I haven't heard that from many women before, it's like hearing your name called)

It's not a fight unless it gets flammable...

I know he has a ton of games, maybe hes just downsizing. I wouldnt jump to conclusions about him going out of business just yet.

I realize you're just being a prick because it's me. You're better than that, or I could just be giving you too much credit. If Joe Non-hobbyist pays 2k for a game he loved as a kid, it better work when it gets to his house. He doesn't want to hear that it's the shipping company's fault something came loose, or some other excuse. If the game doesn't fire up and continue to fire up for a certain amount of time Dale is going to get a call. In a case where the buyer is a significant distance away I'm sure Dale has to pay a local repair guy to go out and make things right. Or he could just take the easy way out and have another one shipped to him and hope it works.

Wow. Yeah, I can't wait for Dale's input on this...

Damm this is funny. Well I would like everyone to know we are still here cleaning the rat piss out of games. We are having a OK Xmas season not the best. As for the prices yes there are people here paying 2 grand for Star Wars and even me yes me just laid out 3700.00 the other day for a HUO Star Wars cockpit plus shipping. And one of you hit it on the head it is just a way to stay on top both here and oversea's listing a large lot. I rattle some gages in here with it. If the lot sells it is only a little over half my stock and I am working a good size deal now so if it sells I will be doing a lot of shopping. The hunt is the best part of this business and finding quarters in them anyway. This is my calling I am good at it and hopeful will be in business a while. As for overhead it sucks but you cannot shop these games and give them away for little to nothing. You either have to sell as is cheap or shopped. And if I am going out of business I am still going to host the Klov night that is going to be a blast. I am glad someone is worrying about me and it bring a warm spot in me considering a year ago I was threaten with death on here. Boy I have came a long way here. Like I said in the past and some of you have said it makes you want to vomit but this is a brotherhood and I will also try to help out a fellow Klover when I can. Oh and dude with the Outrun on consignment if the lot sells I will give you what your Millipede sold for which I think it was 1100.00. So do not worry.

Isn't this the second time we've had a thread about someone assuming he's going out of business?
I started the thread because I was curious. If someone is pretty much selling all their invetory I think it would be safe to assume that they could be closing. A little different than the last guy who went by the shop and nobody was there and assumed they were out of business. And I'm one of the guys who couldn't stand Rlevin a year ago,and now we get along quite well. So for the record I was just curious and a little concerned that something may have been wrong with Dale since I seen the ebay thing and hadn't seen much of him around here lately.

Glennon

p.s. By the way it seemed like Dale got kinda slow posting here about the same time Endrien did and I was thinking they along with shoproyboy could all be the same person. Oh yeah wasn't there another guy that Dale whipped up on in pinball that might have been Dale too LOL
Dale I want all your EM games cheap seriously.

My twins have been sick and in and out of the hospital and with 8 kids in the house and a up and down business just been busy. Gordon if you want a EM and I cannot see why but come down and buy me lunch and I will put one aside for you. Oh bring a little cash for it.
