Chasing ghosts on iTunes!

i watched the trailer on Amazon and it has the "knock-off" music, not the original songs, so i'm assuming the release is the same.

Thanks for the heads up on Hulu.

This documentary was okay but not very compelling. I can see now why it never got released theatrically.

Yeah, thanks for the Hulu heads-up... just watched it! Have wanted to see it for awhile, thought it was very entertaining, not quite as good as King of Kong, but interesting as kind of a companion to that flick.

just saw this thread....also worth pointing out that "high score" is on itunes now as well, for anyone interested.

Netflix has it listed as "coming soon" on availability of streaming. Don't know when that means, but it's encouraging.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been wanting to watch this for a long time. I really enjoyed it, but not what I would call a date movie. They really made alot of these guys look like dorks. Nevertheless, would like to have the DVD. That site states it's now out of stock.

Does anyone know if that Life picture is available anywhere for sale? That would be cool to have in the gameroom.

Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade has not been released on DVD. Any web sites claiming to be selling a DVD of it are selling bootleg copies.

I believe it is, but the price is pretty out there, several hundred if memory serves. Mark Alpiger looked into it several years ago and was able to secure, for a more reasonable fee, a perpetual exclusive license agreement from the photographer for displaying a smaller, lower resolution version of it on his site, so that it could at least be seen by those who wanted to see it and know more about it:

November 1982, Ottumwa, Iowa: LIFE magazine gathering / contest

If you want a film quality, full size print from the photographer be ready to pay a fair amount for it. Here is some info:

A short interview from a year ago:

I have a high resolution JPEG of it on my hard drive, but sadly the surroundings are cropped. :( It would look great printed and framed, but I'd prefer the full, uncropped shot. The full pic can be seen at the first link above.
