Chasing Ghosts is back!

I agree.

Are you going to continue to watch the Steelers now that your (alleged) rapist is playing QB again? With your thought process, you shouldn't. Oh wait, raping chicks is fine, but liking kids isn't, right? ;)

This is an easy one- Ben was never even charged, let alone convicted. He's a dumbass, but you can't convict people for that.

At least they were charged...

Sorry about you being a Browns fan BTW. ;)

Well it has had it's ups and downs.. And while this Sunday's game is more than likely going to be ugly from my perspective, at least we kicked some Squeeler butt at the end of last season!! :beerchug: !!

You should be happy- that's your Super Bowl. We just consider it 1 out of 16 ;)

Oh I was happy! We were even at a friend's house that is occupied by Squeeler fans!

On the flip side, we will be there again this Sunday  revenge is on the docket I'm afraid...

Kids and leaving las Vegas were less depressing than this flick... Damaging and slanted towards exposing oddities within this hobby. Sure there are a plenty, but on the flip side many are normal and hold these memories dear. I am not a fan

See I don't think this is damaging to our hobby. Our hobby is collecting arcade games. How many of the people in the movie are collectors??? None that I saw. These guys are high score addicts. Driven to be the best at a game. This is just showing how quickly the 15 min of fame wears off and what you become after.

I know for most of us it is about the games and not the potential high score that is the driving force.

As far as the screener version and the final cut, I just see it as the screener had the audio they wanted to use but couldn't afford so they had to re-cut it with similar non royalty music. The only other change was Roberts art collection was left out in the final version probably to keep the film at a less than R rating. Removing that segment didn't kill the film or really improve it.

Someone was working on a arcade collector movie. Hopefully who ever that was will get it out there for us to see soon.

Saturday 10/16 at 4:15am
Wednesday 10/20 at 9:00am
Wednesday 10/20 at 7:05pm

My DirecTV guide doesn't show it being on Saturday (the guide currently only goes to Tuesday, so I can't check Wednesday). I also did a search on the title to see if it was on any other movie channel and it didn't show up at all.

This is what Showtime has listed for times on their site:

Fri 10/15 9:35 AM SHO BEYOND
Fri 10/15 4:15 AM SHO BEYOND
Tue 10/19 5:00 PM SHO NEXT
Tue 10/19 5:10 AM SHO NEXT
Wed 10/20 9:00 AM SHO BEYOND
Wed 10/20 7:05 PM SHO BEYOND
Sat 10/23 8:05 AM SHO BEYOND
Sat 10/23 5:15 AM SHO BEYOND
Mon 10/25 11:00 AM SHO NEXT
Tue 10/26 12:30 PM SHO BEYOND

According to my cable guide that Friday 10/15 @ 4:15am listing that Showtime lists is actually Saturday morning 10/16 @ 4:15am.

I guess that Showtime doesn't know when Friday ends and Saturday begins. LOL

OK, that makes more sense. It's not the main Showtime channel, it's Showtime Beyond and Showtime Next, which apparently DirecTV doesn't carry (figures...I'm in the middle of a 3 month preview of Showtime). Oh well, I already saw the other version anyway :D

I still don't understand what is so depressing about Chasing Ghosts. Honestly. Just because some dude who played Berzerk was a pederass? Really?

It may be the fact that on my numerous trips to Funspot I have broken bread and shared beers with these guys. Sure, 15 years ago I may have laughed and poked fun like the rest of the movie critics, but now at 42 I try not to judge anyone. The film makers purposely made almost everyone out to be a joker, and I can tell you for sure the angles they portrayed are again not all that precise. Sure, all of us are strange in our own way, but cmon, I felt the film was in bad taste.

Chasing Ghosts was a punch in the gut for me, too. I didn't expect it to portray people who like old arcade games as a bunch of twisted and pathetic weirdos.

I was really blindsided since there was good buzz about it and involvement from people in the hobby.

I believe the simple fact that you can recognize that MOST of the people portrayed in that documentary ARE twisted and pathetic proves you, I and many others are normal people.
