Chasing Ghosts is back!

Kids and leaving las Vegas were less depressing than this flick... Damaging and slanted towards exposing oddities within this hobby. Sure there are a plenty, but on the flip side many are normal and hold these memories dear. I am not a fan

+1..........

It's just fun to watch for the old pictures. Do you really think that these guys turned into something successful? They spent 1000s of hours in arcades. Note to those that haven't seen it, the Showtime version is slightly edited from the version floating around online, and doesn't have the original music.

Chasing Ghosts was a punch in the gut for me, too. I didn't expect it to portray people who like old arcade games as a bunch of twisted and pathetic weirdos.

I was really blindsided since there was good buzz about it and involvement from people in the hobby.

KIDS was a story this is real. That's what's really depressing.

I still don't understand what is so depressing about Chasing Ghosts. Honestly. Just because some dude who played Berzerk was a pederass? Really?

My understanding is that the version available via torrents is a pre-release cut not intended for distribution. I'm led to believe that there were a number of changes between it and the release version (which is what Showtime has). Whether you prefer to watch a screener edit, or the version intended for release by the filmmaker is up to you - I have not watched the screener because I want to see the real thing.

Now the only problem is: I don't get Showtime!

I watched it the other night and I gotta agree.. I was left with the impression that
the filmmaker was trying to say these people are legends in their own minds.. at least today. The film was almost making fun of them at some points. Or maybe thats just reality.

Still very cool to learn a bunch of arcade history. Worth watching IMHO.

They are...

I wish they'd do a movie on us Jow. You could show off your baseball card collection and I could show off my Heman guys and people could think we were crazy. Then we'd just sit there swearing, getting drunk and making jokes in eachother's game rooms for the rest of the movie, leaving the scene frequently to bag our chicks in private. I already smell sequel.

Yes. At least he was finally caught and locked up.

I agree.

Are you going to continue to watch the Steelers now that your (alleged) rapist is playing QB again? With your thought process, you shouldn't. Oh wait, raping chicks is fine, but liking kids isn't, right? ;)
