what a fucking pain in the ass.

I have only changed a few in my day, but this fucking shield that covers 1/3 of the flyback making it impossible to remove without removing the shield is a bitch.

I mean I have pulled a 1/2 pound of solder off of this fucker and I can't get it all off.

Any way of changing it without removing this shield?

I cannot get all the solder off.

unscrew the shield that covers the thing, you can bend the other end and get enough room to get it out. Or if you dont mind a little extra work, desolder the holding point and hot and you can remove the cover/hot as an assembley.

RESOLDER the flyback... then try desoldering....

WHat are you using to desolder? You need a good hot desoldering iron like a radishack desoldering iron or better.. A cheap regular iron and solder sucker just wont cut it unless ou have a really nice iron and sucker..

I guess I will just bend it.

I am using a weller of some type. It's a decent iron.

thanks

ok, I got it in thanks.

but I forget where the black wire from the flyback goes, lol.

help~!

Some of the flybacks have a little screw in the top you have to take out... and then they kind of clip through the PCB on the bottom, that helps them stay in too. You've just got to get most of that solder off, that's the hard part. I've gotten pretty decent at it with practice, and you have to have a good soldering iron. It's a must.
