I have accessed these forums from a computer that may have had a virus on it, and am trying to change passwords for all accounts I used on that computer.

I cannot find out how to change the forum password.

This is not the same as the WebMagic password, which I can change all day long if I want to.

for example, the webMagic password is <email address>, <wm password>
the FORUMS take <username>, <forum password>

i.e. I can go straight to the forums and log in without entering my email address as a username.

Anyone know how to do this?

Yeah the password functions between VAPS and KLOV forums is screwy . My password has gotten messed up twice for KLOV forums and I couldn't log in because I changed my password on VAPS . I would request a new password for KLOV forums over and over and the new password they sent wouldn't work . After trying many different things I finally got in .

The same account is used for both the forums and the web sites.

Yes, the forum account is also known as the KLOV account is also known as the IAM account is also known as the WebMagic account etc.

The only difference is the site wants you to log on with your email address, while the forums went you to use your username. I may change this to make it a little easier.

It is not generally possible for a password to work on the forums or the site but not the other.

Each time I've heard about this happening (including many times this week), it is because a person has signed up for two accounts. Their new account or 'VAPS' account uses a current email address, and usually their 'forum' account has an old email address attached to it. Thus when they do the lost password function and enter in their current email address, it resets their password on their account, but not for the account tied to their forum profile.

I've spent so much time helping people with it this week that I made a small change to the lost password function to help clarify things yesterday, and today I change the main VAPS index page to clearly state that if you had an account already, don't create a separate one for VAPS...

Part of the time challenge is getting people to realize (remember) that they signed up for two accounts, and to get the two account numbers, since people don't always provide their name when they sign up. As such, yesterday I also changed the system that whenever someone asks for a temporary password from the system, it emails me a copy too. Then when they say 'it does not work', I can more easily figure out what is happening (which is almost always user error or lack of site clarity).

And yes: http://www.arcade-museum.com/accounts/index.php is the best address to log on to for changing your settings. There is also a link on the page for 'I Forgot My Password'.
