change DK?

A DK board can be modified to play 8 ball action, but that game blows big time.
A DKJR board can be modified to play both DK & DKJR,but some sounds on DK sound a bit off.
This mod can't be done to a DK board.

You need to provide more information to get a proper answer. Does your cabinet have an edge connector or do the wires plug into several different places. What type of board are you talking about another Nintendo board or something else? If its something else are you wiling to change out the wiring harness. There are many answers but you have to include more information to get a proper answer.

For some reason I think the question he meant to ask was:

"What would it take to change my Donkey Kong into a 60-in-1?"

The answer is: A frontal lobotomy...

I agree switching a DK cab is a terrible waste. One could hook up a Jamma harness to a switching power supply and a video inverter board and not hack up the original wiring harness. Keep the parts in the bottom of the cab, and restore when you come back to your senses.

what i would say is just buy a cheap jamma cab that is already wired and has a multi button control panel, and swap what you want into that. easiest solution.

"cheap jamma cab's" with vertical monitors are hard to find where I live. maybe the guy only has room for one cabinet and wants one with some style??? Heck I have 2 with horizontal monitors in my garage if you don't like fighting games they are not as useful as verticals.
