Well, my dig dug as working perfect, until I changed the dip switch settings, now the fucking thing won't start!!!!!

Same deal every time I start up.. I keep getting this screen, won't coin up, nothing happens, this screen just sits there...
I have changed the dips a few times, but nothing on screen changes anymore..

It should be showing 5 lives as per TG's Tournament settings, I don't know why the hell its showing 9 lives...
The test screen shows everything correctly, but I only get this screen when it's not in test mode...

any ideas?????????????????????

I had the same problem. reset all switches to the following:

Top: 1 on 2 on 3 off 4 off 5 on 6 on 7 on 8 on

Bottom: 1 off 2 on 3 on 4 on 5 on 6 off 7 off 8 off

This needs to be in the for sale section then.... ;)

Those dips can go bad.. you can use a jumper wire to bypass the dip to check if its faulty.. not sure what to do if its stuck "on" and you want it off..

I owe you a beer...
WTF caused that? I don't know, but those dip settings fixed it.

Thanks man....

You must have Revision "B" boards, I do too and did the same damn thing and about never got it back to working until I quit looking at the book and started looking on the internet for dip switch settings for Dig Dug and found a comment about Rev B settings, my book is NOTHING like what it is, I hit print and put it in the book for next poor bastard that ends up with it.

You're using the wrong dip switch settings.

There are 2 types of atari boards and they have different DIP settings.

Rev A: http://www.crazykong.com/dips/DigDug.txt
Rev B: http://www.crazykong.com/dips/DigDugRevB.txt

Do yourself a favor and just make sure 'Freeze Mode' is off, and change the dip settings in test mode so you can see what the game thinks you've done.

FYI, if it is a REV 2 board (you can tell if you look at the roms and they say 201 202 203 etc.. instead on 101 102 103 etc..) it is not submittable to TG for records. If you just want to play TGTS or just set it that way just because thats all good.

Are you sure Ken?
They have settings on TG for both boards, so I figured they accepted both.
