Sure, why not. It's as simple as a ROM and CP swap so why not. Heck, the video boards seem to be everywhere (people apparently horde the CPU boards??) so just buy a second one to make the switch-over easier.

Whoops, forgot that there is some (I believe simple) wiring differences. Didn't the CK contain an adapter or sumpin?

Im in the process of doing one now, you need the rom change over (its 22 ic's if I remember correctly, I got myset from hyperneogo on these forums) the control panel, and wiring harness that goes from the board and plugs into the plug on the control panel (I got this from a member of this site also who makes brand new ones). You also need the slapstic security chip, there is a member on this site who makes a universal one now that is awesome, I got mine from him.

Arrrggghhhhhhhh... I always forget that slapstick nonsense.

Championship Sprint > Paperboy. it's one of the few games from the Atari Games period I like.

I'm curious what your power supply arrangement is on it. with the AR3, do you see the massive voltage drop like you would with dual switchers?

Personally mine was the AR2 with the big power brick/transformer assembly, made me question what was going on with my cabinet when I looked at the manual and say the other one.

I am keeping this as a Championship Sprint, but will use it to help test my Paperboy.

My Paperboy cabinet is dead at the moment.

I have a really nice Champ Sprint and love and remember the game as a kid... But if I ever sold it I would convert it to Paperboy...
