how does the wood piece that covers where the pedals go on champ sprint mount? I was lucky enough to have this wood piece inside my champ sprint and it looks like it was never used. It clearly has screw holes for mounting but neither the champ sprint cab that it came out of nor the cab that I'm restoring for my paperboy have any place for these screws to mount. I'm assuming I will need to add something for them to mount to but I'm curious how it's supposed to be. Did atari provide directions in either the champ sprint or paperboy manual? Any one have a pic?

atari used to use some 1" square blocks to screw into the sides of the monitor area to suport the monitor bezel. It migh be a similar situation with paperboy.

I have never had one with the area capped off so I don't know for sure. But if your cabinet had the wood block mounted inside the cabinet, look to see what it was mounted to or what was right next to it.
