i have a data east astro fighter. the 13 " cga monitor is shot. finding a replacement is tough, its a cocktail and needs a very narrow chassis to fit. i have a vga flat screen that will fit nicely. problem is, with one of those ebay chinese cga to vga converters, the image is shaky when used with a flat screen. it is also shaky with a vga crt . i hook the game right up to a large cga monitor, all is fine. its there a work around? a better convertor?

thanks

Adjust the clamp settings.

using the correct sync wires? I know on the converter, I've only used the grey sync wire and not the yellow one.

You may have different numbers needed in the settings, as this is an EGA video machine in the video

im using the grey wire. i found the clamp settings, no help. ive tried every setting i could find.

Plug another VGA cable into the "VGA Input" connection as a dummy. That will stop the shaking.

plugging in the added cable helped a lot , cut out 90% of the jitter. however, rebooting the game brought all the jitter back, and cant get rid of it, even with the added cable

thanks

like a schmuck, the second time the spare cable was plugged into a spare board next to the one being used. its now back to 90% better.

You adjust the holds? Can you post a video? You may need to add an 8k-10k ohm resistor onto the sync wire.

I just went through this BS with a golden tee. Set your top clamp at 3 and your bottom At 4 and then press the auto adjust button on the converter. It worked for me

a 4.7 k resistor inline with the horz sync is working so far.
