Ceramic caps - Axial verses upright?

Ok, dumb question:

I've got a Xenophobe board I'm working on right now that's got a broken .01uf ceramic cap, what's there is axial but all I have right now to replace it with is the standard upright kind, does it really make a difference which I use other than for the way the mount? While I'm at it I might as well ask if it matters with electrolytics too?

As long as the value is correct and it is the same type cap the footprint doesnt matter.
