Hey guys! I could use a little help here. Anyone on here ever heard of this game? Fun, not so fun? What would you say it's worth?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

And yes, I just noticed that I spelled it wrong.....Pleiades

I think they spelled it wrong. It is supposedly kind of rare but I remember seeing these in the wild in several locations. The pcb will swap into a Phoenix cabinet. I like the game and have one in my Phoenix to play if I need to. :) Phoenix is a better game though imo but I have fond memories of both games.

Pleiades is one of my fav shooters. Not sure about cab worth, but i play it all the time on my 60-1.It's the game Emilio plays on Nightmares! Sweet cab too. Btw, the mothership always gives me hand cramps.

well, well, my silent best buddy from Jaxville commented;), thanks Rich!! Hey Rich bring your trailer over I got some stuff for you:) I agree Pleiades is a fun game, I have one sitting next to a Galaxian, the Pleiades always get played the most.

Seriously! The Japanese Tehkan flyer has it spelled "PLEIADS" (like the title screen) while the marquee on the same flyer reads "PLIADES." The Centuri marquee reads "PLEIADES" which is I believe is the most accepted spelling of the star cluster ;)

Isn't it known as "Subaru" in Japanese anyway? :)

I had a coctail... But no PCB inside...

It was just before they put the game on the multiboards... Or else I would have kept it.

If you have an Xbox or Xbox 360, you can get the Tecmo classics release. IT's like $5

I played it for the 1st time last week and kind of enjoyed it a bit. I like it a lot better than Phoenix because of the board variety especially the obstacle course-y type boards.

Playpen35 is right about the pricing as I paid around 250 for mine about 3 years ago at an auction and I like the fact that you can change bput the game board with a Phoenix game board.

So if I can pick a working one up for $100 bucks I should probably snag it????

Great game. I started playing it way-back-when because it was next to Xevious. My buddy and I got good enough at Xevious that it was boring waiting for your turn.
What started as just a time-filler game that hardly ever got played at the arcade ended up being a game I still play all the time today.

I go by the spelling 'Pleiads'. Supposedly, Centuri is the culprit of the misspelling on the marquee & side-art. It's a fun game that picks up where Phoenix left off. The only thing is, to me, is that some of the sounds get annoying after a while.

BTW, I have a spare working board if anyone needs one.

IIRC, both spellings are considered acceptable. It's funny the "design" crew and the "programmers" didn't get together on WHICH spelling they were going to use.

...

I go by Pleiades because its a "star cluster" and im sure thats what it was meant to be. The spelling on the screen/roms "pleiads" is incorrect.

Pleiades (star cluster) – open cluster of stars in the constellation Taurus

Ple·ia·des (plē'ə-dēz', plī'-)
pl.n.

1. Greek Mythology The seven daughters of Atlas (Maia, Electra, Celaeno, Taygeta, Merope, Alcyone, and Sterope), who were metamorphosed into stars.

2. An open star cluster in the constellation Taurus, consisting of several hundred stars, of which six are visible to the naked eye.

I like it. I dont think I would have a dedicated version, though. Mainly a space issue. I believe there are far better things that can occupy space in my arcade...
