Central Park Arcade Mt View 1981 - VIDEO POSTED

Look at that Defender fleecing most of those suckers with 20 second games. My exact experience in 1981. :)

The footage is really clear, and the arcade looks really cool, but I wish the videographer would have focused more on the arcade and less on the people. One guy was good enough at Defender to draw attention, but all we got to see was how fast he pushed the fire button.

Thanks for posting the video, I liked it!
It looks like at 1:05 the kid puts his quarter up meaning- "I've got next game sucka!"

Videographer? If's I was a betting man I'd say thats 16 or 35. "Ready for Speed."

Anyway nice footage. I was expecting something dark and grainy, but this looks like a professional (expensive) shoot.

I found the pedophile-like focus on children to be creepy, but hey, maybe it was shot by a sociologist or something.

That is the clearest original shot of an old-school arcade I've ever seen. Thank you for confirming that the games weren't always beat to hell.

cool vid, needs more game footage though. The wife was grossed out at the extreme zoom in of the asian kids bad acne LMAO

Awesome a Teeter Torture. Qix wasn't even getting love back in 1981 lol.

So, let me get this straight. Defender machines DIDN'T have cigarette burns on the control panel when they shipped from the factory???

It's almost sad to see what REAL arcades looked like back in the day. I miss them so...

Wow, you always find the most interesting arcade related stuff, atariscott. I loved the arcade footage... there really isn't much like that left around. And I did see the protoype game - Teeter Torture! Anyone know how many were created?

Btw, I love that Eliminator machine in the background. Plus, that space-themed mural on the walls is amazing!
